  • Quick schmupdate:
We had a neighborhood yard sale today… every one just puts stuff out and sells their junk at their own property.
Well, I hate yard sales but Christabelle and I decided to sell some stuff.
Blizzie and hubby went to William and Mary today for some transfer student wingding thing.

So, I made, so far a whopping $2.
    Oh well.

I will call my friends at Purple Heart and have them pick up the shelves, the plastic drawers, the bar stools and the cat tree.
    What ever.
Now I remember why I hate yard sales.
I mean I priced the stuff so cheap, any cheaper and I would be paying people to take the stuff!

    Oh one other thing.
I got a new trimmer. Black and Decker. Battery.
It is not Pink like I demanded but I guess orange is o kaaaaay.

I will try to blog some day soon.
Sorry, life is annoyingly busy and my ADHD is worse than ever… I mean I am considering drugs, seriously.
My family is making fun of me…. it is that bad

    I hope you are happy.
    I am happy.

Hfta run now and do a zillion things.

    Oh jeeps I totally forgot.
Look at this cool frog… toad thing napping on my chair in the front!
click to biggify and you can see his leggies all tucked in. oooh how kyoot

    Isn’t this cool?
I swears when I furst saw it I thought it was a rock
and then I yelled “hey Christabelle, come and look at this, quick quick quick”
Well, that was early this morning and he is stillll there.

    Resisting temptation
is usually just a matter of

    putting it off
    until nobody is looking

yeah well no one is home
so maybe I will get rid of those
    pesky cookies in the pantry

  • I hate that when those pesky cookies call my name!

I thought the toad was a rock too!  I’ve never seen one like that before.

I have found that the only time it’s beneficial to run a garage sale is when you get rid of all the baby stuff.  Otherwise, people just don’t want to pay.  And I’m like you.  I almost give it away.  But they still try to get it cheaper.  Come on folks.  So this is why I have bagged up 10 garbage bags of stuff that I will get over to goodwill on Monday.

  •  I’ve done one garage sale.  If one were paid by the hour, I would have made minus dollars.  Just not worth it.  When I die, I will leave everything that is left that the kids and grands don’t want for an estate person to bother with and the proceeds will go to my posterity….lucky them!

You can afford to eat cookies.  I can’t.  At my age, I just look at food and go up another size…!

     BOO

but other than being fat, I’m happy.  Fat and happy.

  • Coolest. Frog. Ever.  It looks like a snake’s head to me.  Except I want to poke it, just a little, and if it was actually a snake’s head that would be a bad idea.

  • Every time I do a yard sale I swaer, never again.  Which works, until the next time.  : )

What a cool critter!!!  I love finding these kinds of things in the yard.  Those are high times in my book.

Hee – notagoose wants to poke it – poor toad-thing!

  • Also “swear”.      : D

  • Those sales bring out the ‘cheap’ in most people. I feel your pain. It’s always amazing to me how people will want a 25 cent item for a nickel. bah!

Ha..I thought the toad was a lump of dried up clay. I hope he’s alive.

    You and your cookies!!!! hahahaaa!

  • I thought he was a rock!

  • Oh yeah….. craft stores stell masking tape and pink spray paint.

  • Have you considered poking the frog to make sure he’s still alive? Cute little thing, I thought too that it was a rock.

I love going to yard sales but hate having them. You can practically give something away and people will try to bargain the price down.

  • I just as soon donate stuff then have a sale but I like to go to them and I always tell the people thanks when I leave.

that toad is ugly but maybe so ugly it’s cute?

  • Strange looking frog.

Did anybody come by your yard sale besides two people?

  • A friend of mine always puts out free stuff and expensive stuff.  She wheels and deals and sales the cheap stuff for big bucks and the free stuff doesn’t go anywhere.  It is so strange.  I think that is a mutant snake head with no body.

  • WOW….that’s a cool froggie.  I thought it was a rock, too.

  • You’re always so sweet to comment.  Life has been pretty crazy lately, that’s for sure.  And by the way, I hate yard sales too.  Too much work for very little $.  I prefer to use Craigslist when I have something I want to sell.  I hope you have a great week!

  • You are rather a giver than a seller , Rosemary . Generous soul .
Not sute I know what is ADHD ?
The toad is amazing . Good exemple of mimetism .
     Love to you

    Michel

  • That is a very cool looking frog.  You know, thanks to pesticides and development, they are disappearing in many places..including here.  I rarely see one these days….which is sad.

  • Awesome froggie!  =)  You have a cool blog.

  • My neighbors had a yard sale in MY yard on Friday. Made over $200. Now why can’t I do the same? *grumble, grumble*

  • Thank you for your kind and substantial comment Rosemary. I appreciated it .

I wish all was alright with you .
    Love

  • I yard-sale’d just yesterday! ‘Bought a washer/dryer- $75 and some cool all-oak shelves for $25 a piece!

I need to stay away from them though, as my garage is filling up full of bargain-finds!

  • My family makes fun of me all the time but it’s not for the ADHD. It’s for the D-U-M-B. I miss hearing from you more often and I’m sorry you’re too busy to blog a lot. However, for everything there is a season. Enjoy the one you’re in,I say,and you always seem to do that well.

  • My kids are dying to have a yard sale and the thought horrifies me.  LOL

  • I hope the yard sale went well , Rosemary and you are not too much exhausted .

    Love

  • Hey!!!  I read back and got caught up with you.  You have a new kitty, YAY!  Is he feeling better?  That’s a kinda sad story about the old guy.  I don’t know much about cats… never heard of that giardi-whatever.  I hate yard sales too… I refuse to have one.  The girls are the ones who always do that anymore (I let them use my yard, heh.)  We saw a cute froggie like that at Mom’s once a long time ago… it was on the brick wall, right beside of the outside water faucet… I could not even tell it was a frog either (thought it was part og the spigot or something!)  It’s good to catch up with you!  Give the new kitty a love from me.

  • I didn’t realize it’s been this long since you’ve posted. Come back!

RYC: Oh no…I’m not going to start making fun of Obama until Hillary is officially finished. Then look out!

  • Hey….Miss you!

  • Thanks for the message Rosemary . I realize you take a break longer than the mine .We need from time to time . We have to face the real life and to present with our our family . In May I have a huge amount of works to do and this has to be done and i stand closer Janine since she had surgery and since the death of our DIL ,3 months ago . Janine is deeply touched and pains to overcome this awful event .
I am glad you enjoy the presence of Elizabeth and I suppose the walks and the skate .

    Much love
    Michel

  • I have thought of you often and today I was especially thinking of you so I came here. First off, I am so glad you got Pierro. As you know, I got a kitten after Sugar went to sleep. I still miss her a lot, tho. I must look up gardia and this from Good exemple of mimetism . Isn’t Michel the sweetest person!! I would not be able to join a blogging group in his country. He does so well with english.

I cannot imagine you with ADHD. If you remember, after I came back from England after Bern died, I was in a major depression and when I asked my ob/gyn for help, he gave me a prescription that had me jittery and I started smoking again. I also lost 20 lbs. and at that time I could not afford that much of a loss in weight. I found out after he suddenly “retired” that he had me on Ritalin which is the drug of choice for ADHD. Since then (almost ten years ago) I am on medication that makes me more sedentary and I gain about five pounds a year..well, almost…I went from 120 tp 150. That was a shocker to my vanity and my wardrobe. The wardrobe was easier to fix for I buy most of my things at the thrift stores. As for the vanity…just last week I decided to skip weighing at the YMCA. I get really down when I see the numbers. Instead I asked myself if I felt reasonably happpy and good about myself and suprisningly the answer was “yes”. I would rather be a dumpy old woman who can smile and cope than a skinny one who looks like she could explode at any minute.  So I hope if you are serious about the ADHD, please take care about meds. Knowing you, you would anyway.

I love you, Rosemary!! BTW since I cannot any longer travel to England to see my dear friends there, I am using my relay phone to call them. A relay writes what they say. I was reminded of that just now for my most precious friends, Dot and Peter, have  a black lab named Rosie!! I love her as well!!

I think I will email you and tell you to check your site!! I am not blogging much here lately since the meds make me lazy!!

  • missing you… hope all is well.  take care of yourself!  **hugs**

  • I hope you are betterRosemaryand this ADHD is decreasing .
The landscape is empty without you .
    Love
    Michel.
