  • HAPPY
    NEW YEARS
    EVE!!!
Hey xanga peeps, I hope all of you have a delightful last day of December.
We have had Andrei here with us and we have been busy. Also, my washer finally died (r.i.p washerkins)
I am having a noo washer delivered today.

Boy, we have done a lot over the past few days with Andrei in tow. He has been a fun visitor.
We are taking him home this afternoon. Gah, he has homework and we worked a little on that.
He is adhd (like me) so he drives me a bit batty
Here it is windy and getting cold. er.

What are your plans for the evening? Going out?
    Going to bed early?
I just read that Bill and Hillary are dropping the ball at midnight in Noo York.
Isn’t that great? I love how everything here in the US is a democrat political/Hollywood event.
    Thank you hollywood.
I wish all of you the best and nicest New Year’s Eve and a terrifical new year
    keep praying
    hide your money
    you are loved by me

Many people look forward to the new year
for a new start on old habits.

  • Merry Christmas

    Love is like the wild-rose briar;
    Friendship is like the holly-tree.
The holly is dark when the rose briar blooms,
But which will bloom most constantly?

  • Merry Christmas every body!
I just finished baking a zillion cookies and I am going to jump in the shower soon (because I love them) and then maybe go for a walk.
Yesterday I did not skate… actually I decided Sunday evening that I did not feel like skating this Monday.
So then yesterday Princess decided to act a bit unusual with her litterbox, so what a mistake that was for her.
At 17 and a half years old, you don’t just go around acting
like you can’t pee. We (Blizzie and I) shoved her into the prison box and off we went to the vet.
She ended up spending the day there. I know she felt it was a tortuous ordeal, but they LOVE her there. They think she is adorable and she meows a lot  and stamps her paws and purrrs.
They put her on some pain meds because they thought perhaps she had a urinary tract infection so when we got her at 6 pm she was still flying high and in quite a party type mood.
She is doing fine now. she has some antibiotics and more pain meds which just make her feel very bold and she hobbles around the house which makes Pierro nutty with happiness and excited that perhaps she has finally decided to be a playful olde lady.
She just hollers at him which makes him even more excited.

I am ready for Christmas. We are going to my parents on Christmas day, spending the day with them, and I believe Joyce and Andrei will be there
and my nephew (Dolley’s son), the one that just got married to sweet Kim, will be there with Kim. I am really happy HAPPY
Then next day Sally (my oldest sister Dolley’s daughter that lives in Boston) will be coming down. She is a lawyer now.
So, we will be driving back to my parents on Friday for more food and fun.
I have a lot of cooking to do becuase I am making the ham and the potatoes and um… cookies.

I will end here because I just have to go now.
I will update very very soon.
meantime, enjoy these last lovely days of December and savor this Christmas with your friends family and plenty of cookies

I am very disappointed in xanga. they are using the new improved version and I DO NOTTTTT LIKE IT

This could mean there will be consequences!!

here is an old photo of my sweet Caesar from just last year.
What a sweet doll he was.

Please tell me what your plans are for the next few days. I want to know!
I will be thinking of all of you. Be well.
drive carefully, try not to get involved in any family snits,
Just float along in your happy place

    to ever talk seriously about

  • Kleines Christmas Gedicht

    Weihnachtszeit

    When the last Kalendersheets
    flattern through the winterstreets
    and Dezemberwind is blowing,
    then ist everybody knowing
that it is not allzuweit -
    she does come the Weihnachtszeit.

    All the Menschen, Leute, people
flippen out of ihr warm Stüble,
    run to Kaufhof, Aldi, Mess,
    make Konsum and business,
    kaufen this und jene things
    and the churchturmglocke rings.

    Manche holen sich a Tännchen,
when this brennt they cry “Attention”.
    Rufen for the Feuerwehr
“Please come quick to löschen her!”
Goes the Tännchen off in Rauch
they are standing on the Schlauch.

In the kitchen of the house
    mother makes the Christmasschmaus.
She is working, schufts and bakes,
the hit is now her Joghurtkeks
and the Opa says als Tester:
“We are killed bis to Silvester”.
Then he fills the last Glas wine -
    yes this is the christmastime!

Day by day does so vergang
and the holy night does come,
you can think, you can remember
    this is immer in Dezember.

    Then the childrenlein are coming,
    candle-Wachs is abwärts running.
    Bing of Crosby Christmas sings
    while the Towerglocke rings
and the angels look so fine,
    well this is the Weihnachtstime.

    Baby-eyes are kugelrund,
    the family feels kerngesund,
    when unterm Weihnachtsbaum they’re hocking
then nothing can them ever shocking.
They are happy, are so fine
    this happens in the christmastime.

The animals all in the house,
the Hund, the Katz, the bird, the Maus,
    are turning round the Weihnachtsstress,
    enjoy this as never nie
well they find Kitekat and Chappi
    in the Geschenkkarton of Papi.

    The family begins to sing
and wieder does a Glöckchen ring.
    Zum Song vom grünen Tannenbaum
the Tränen rennen down and down,
    bis our mother plötzlich flennt
    “The christmas-Gans im Ofen brennt!”
Her nose indeed is very fine!

    Ende of the Weihnachtstime

I think this is kind of cute. A mix of German and English

I hope you are having a delightful day

I am doing an assortment of things.

Blizzie has a gig tonight at the hotel so she is playing here all day going over her repertoire

  • I have my noo glasses.
    I do not like them.
they are “progressive” and I just HATE them
What a dumb thing. I can’t wear these. I have no peripheral vision

Besides, as soon as we got into the eye doc office, to pick up these things, we had to wait a while
I found a pair of frames I liked better. They were cuter! they had genuine imitation diamonds on the sides, really tiny but so cute!

Other than that, these “goggles” make me feel like barfing.
My eyes are not that bad really.

I hope you are having a delightful day.
It is raining and super drabby here.
I am going to plug in the Christmas tree and mix up some sugar cookie dough, with out my glasses!
Blizzie is home and we are here.
Hubby went to a Christmas party with boring work people
We have video-chat at 2:00 today with my parents.
    be happy
Oh, and I hate my glasses. This is not going to work.
    Love always, moi

  • I am pump-a-fied
Tomorrow I will drive to Williamsburg and pick up the Blizzpuffkin from the college.
Lots of driving THE SPEED LIMIT

Today I skated. I had a mighty fine skate. Fun people today.
yesterday I shopped, the day before, Monday I skated and handed out my Christmas cards.
I do other things too… besides shop and skate. Really.

OH I forgot to tell you about the lunch out with the friends last Wednesday. There were 15 of us
the waitress was awwwwwful. The food was just okay.

This was a planned lunch party for our sweet friend Oneida (pronounced Oh-nay-duh)
She is moving back to Puerto Rico. she is 4th on the right. She is button cute.
Her hubby died last year from some illness and she just wants to go south where her family is. She has grown up kids in Miyammmmi Florida.
I will say it right here and now, I am the very very very youngest of the group.
LOL I like hanging out with older women.
The guy on the end is something like 100 years old. He is german and a little bit annoying but nice.
some of us find him irritating so I am glad he was not sitting near me.
The two ladies on the far left are Pauline and Marion. They are very VERY good pals ‘o mine.
I sat in between both of them.
So anyway, the restaurant crammed us in this room, crammed three tables together and stuffed us against this wall. Gosh it was ridiculously squishy.
There was NO ONE else in the restaurant.
I was the only one that was HOT as *bleep* everyone else in this groop has been there done that. I was roasting hot.
So anyway, it was a fun afternoon even though it took one hour to get all of our food
The girl in grey and I shared a pizza. We decided to get something simple. It was not a great pizza.
The others ordered meals and about 20 minutes after we ordered and she brought out sodas and ice tea etc
she notified a few that they had to order something else because they did not have what they had ordered. nutty.
I had a huge headache by the end of this lunch party but I was happy and cheeeerful the whole time.
I think it was because it was so dang hot in the place
The lady on the right of Oneida #5 on the right, is a bit of a snob. #6 on the right is Alice and I really like her too.
Actually all of these peeps are nice. This is NOT the entire group. I can think of about 5 others that did not come, like goofy Jim!

I will share these tow pictures with you.
Princess and Pierro. Prinnie is very sweet and compliant. Loves posing.
Pierro, I had to wrestle him into this hat. wow, what  fun!

Pierro is SO incredibly cute and adorable.
He and Princess are the best kitties in the world!! the universe!

I took both of these in Photobooth
I have a few camera shots of him chewing on that star tiara that Prinnie was wearing in the previous bloggie,
and also one of his wrestling with a tiny winter hat.

    Oooooh last photo
I just took this one on Photobooth:

  • Yay, holiday greetings xanga pals
I have been busy… what is new with you? I hope you are well and happy.

well, yeah I had a birthday and that was fine. We were going to go out to lunch/dinner at Blue Ridge Grilllll last Monday afternoon, but hubby… well, he dropped his contact down the sink.
He wears one contact to balance out with his right eye that had the surgery. Anyway, it was just a “test lens” and even though he paid for it… well, he got a new different lens.
So, he was major miffed after he did that and I was feeling pretty bad for him. We took the sink apart but no lens I scoured the bathroom floor but did not find the lens.
He felt terrible but really, it was okay. Now he has a different new lens. This one is working okay but he complains that his bottom eyelid keeps bonking the lens.
He has a very patient and caring eye doc (mine too) and he is trying a new lens every week… or so.
We went out to eat lunch/dinner at the brand new Blue Ridge Grill on Friday. It is way different than the original one in Leesburg, as far as atmosphere but the food was great.

Presently we are watching Casino Royale courtesy of NetFlix $4.99/month.

so I am blogging here on my NOO compoooter. Yep, yep I have a new MacBook Pro and it is wowie fantastical. I received this for my birthday from my hubby. I gave him my old MacBook Pro. His laptop is incredibly olde and he needed a new compooooter so, yeah, I got the new one.
Pretty nice huh? I am quite happy with it. It is much like the former but there are some things I have learn to manage still.

this is it, on my desky, and the keyboard below is my old keyboard that i use when I work at my desky,
right now I am sitting on the couch next to the Christmas tree.

    Okkay what else is new…
well, I finished all of my Christmas cards, I have a squillion of them this year and it took me FOREVER!
I finished the tree… it is all lightie and decoration-y and festive. Pierro is lurking around the house while we are watching this amazingly exciting Casino Royale movie.
Wow, a lot of running and shooting.

Okay, here is a fun story.
We have a neighborhood about 12 miles from my house here in Northern Virginia, same county, called Sterling, Virginia. There is a street by the name of East Juniper Avenue in Sterling.
Every year, Juniper Avenue residents decorate the exterior of their homes and their property (all roughly 1/2 acre, more or less) Every owner on the street decorates their entire property. It is wild. If you  live around here, you must go at least twice in your life. It is a little bit flashy, a little bit gaudy but also quite festive and fun. They also have a big white wooden box at each end of the street for food donations that go to the local food bank.
Here is a video on youtube that I found. This video does not really describe it but you can get some idea. Every year the decorations are pretty much the same, so that is good, you do not have to go every year. Lots of people go to Juniper Street.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRYwlpVcx_4

So, here is another story. The guy next door, remember the real estate agent that had the midlife crisis and decided that he did not want to be married to his nutty depressed wife anymore so he gave her half the value of the house (that was 3 years ago and the house was worth $750 then) in cash? She moved to a happy life back in Canada where she was from and her family is there. The kids, wow, I will not go into that but there are kids. So, midlife Crisis-guy was living in the big house all alone, girl friends etc for a while and then he gets fired from his job because…. he is dating an employee. What a dope. He had a fantastic job, he was something like a big manager for several offices for a BIG real estate business here, making at least $250K. So, then months later Fired Midlife-crisisGuy decides to sell his house and … then we had this terrible market. LOL
He got a job in Wisconsin or something, so he managed to get lucky and get some renters.

We have renters. These people are pretty nice but they have 4 cats that run loose, and they are a bit strange. Nice but strange.
They decorated their house for Christmas… and I feel like I live in Sterling…. on Juniper Avenue!
I am not even sure we are allowed to have that many decorations in our neighborhood. We live in a PUD and it has lots of rules, I think this is allowed but … we are all pretty low key here, nothing flashy, nothing garish.
They have decorated their house with every decoration that was ever invented and made both here and in China!!!
as always, with all photos, klick to biggify for viewing enjoyment

    I do not mind this.
    But.
It sure makes my house look drabbbb and unfestive like.

    Oh well.

I have loads more to blog about but the movie… it is getting really exciting now.

Here he is, Mr. Silly with Caesar’s stocking.

He likes it. I think he will use it this year

May Peace be your gift at Christmas
and your blessing all year through!

  • Today it is sunny and very windy and freezing outside. We got some snow last night but nothing much really. Brrrrr it is cold out there, I am not going out.
I think I have a bit of some virus going around the rink. Last few weeks my skate chums have been sick with some head thing. I feel okay but I drank a whole pot of tea and just taking it easy today. I want to go to the rink tomorrow.

I think I finished all of my Christmas shopping. Teeniebelle and I went to Kohls yesterday and I think I am done!
It was a really fun adventure.

Yesterday evening my sister Joyce and Andrei came over for pizza. I was tired but we had fun.
Andrei is a cute guy. I like him.
    These were taken on photobooth

I think I am going to take a little nap now
yeah, really. Wow, I never get sick. So, this is what it feels like huh?
    hmmmm don’t like it

  • Hi well I guess I should update something here it has been a week.
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? This is the month to get it done

Here, I think I will finally, in so many years, be on time and not stressed at the last moment.
Tomorrow I am going to do some shopping and get everything sewn up. really. no more delays.
We are not a big spender family and we do not buy huge amounts of stuff.
That is just crazy and nuts. We are neither.
This week-end I am preparing to slave away at the Christmas cards, get them all done. By Monday my hands will have fallen off, but I will somehow drive out to the rink and skate. Wednesday I am going to a PARTY! yay okay… actually it is just us skate peeps going to a mexican food restaurant *sigh* but still woooo hoooo

here is my tree. I took this with Photobooth!!
I still have to put the decorations on.
(yes, my nose is huge and I have no eyebrows shuddup, look at the perdy tree)

So, I am behaving and I hope you are too.

The weather here has been great, balmy 50 degrees!  . . . raining
I have to run now and do a zillion things, then do a zillion more things.
    Be happy. I YAM.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world,
    and behold,
    everything is softer
    and more beautiful.
