Month: February 2009

  • Well, I should be doing other things now, but, what the heck.
I cleaned three bathrooms. I will do some sewing later.

Okay, here is the story. I went out to visit my parents on Thursday. Hubby had an eye doc appointment in the morning and “work meetings” in the afternoon. He works at home now, he is retired US Gubmint, so he did not come with me.
Anyway, so I spent the day with my parents. I always kind of worry that it is going to be boring but it never is.
When I arrive, the tv is on that show that used to have Bob Barker but now they have that other guy. The tv is on very loud.

So, we sat around and ate some cookies and dad made coffee and then we had lunch, oh that was while the local news was on full blast and dad and I were looking at the tv in his room wondering why it did not get the local channels. I could not figure it out. This is a photo of one of the bar stools I reupolstered. I did four chairs like this. The seat was easy of course the top I had to make a custom fitted piece that fit on like a sleeve and I stapled the bottom.

That was tricky. well, taking apart the chairs and reupolstering was hard too. This is the first time I believe, that I have ever done anything like this, but I can do it. I used to make custom made clothing for Blizzie because she was sooooo thin and tiny regular patterns did not fit.

After lunch we lazed around and talked about all sorts of things. I like hearing my dad’s stories about the war. We got on the subject because we are always surprised at the  migration of muslims around the world. France, UK and Holland have a big problem. You think this is not a big deal, but we do not have it here… yet. One day you will see.
They take over all of the businesses and make demands changes that suit them only, change laws, rules and make what was once easy and comfortable life for normal people now they have to follow rules that do not even agree with their religion or lifestyle just to suit the muslim immigrants. Just wait. It is coming to the US. The migration is slow and gradual
Anyway, we talk of this quite a bit. WE love looking at photos of old Holland, when we were there. Now it is changed.
This situation is very similar is so many ways to the migration of Nazi’s. They move in, infiltrate and then over a period of 25 years they change things. Then… one day, there is a rising up.

I have read almost every book written about WW2, everything I can get my hands on, history and personal accounts.

so, anyway, after lunch I decided that we should go for a walk and perk up…. OH I forgot, right after lunch my mom made me wash her kitchen floor, I ended up washing more than that though because I just did. everything looked dirty. I cleaned the entire kitchen all of the exterior cabinets and counter tops. It was fun. so then we went for a walk. It was a good one, maybe a mile.

Mom pulled a muscle in her leg/hip/butt, it could be just an irritation of her sciatic nerve… I think that is what it is. Anyway, she had trouble walking so we took it slow. It was fine.

Then we got home and had tea and more cookies.
then I had to drive home, which took me an hour on the DC Beltway. It was not bad traffic for 5:00… must be all of that unemployment.

My dad and I love to blab about weird stuff — I mean it. He told me about his uncle that came to the US in 1920 and married some lady he met (an american) and Uncle Barney was a cool guy, he had a construction business and he was always  busy. That wife of his was unhappy. She used to shop and go out and have a good time. She got sick and tired of her crummy husband and paid someone to kill him. the killer guy went up to the Uncle Barney and said “give me $2000 or I will kill you” and my uncle said “come back at 4:00 and I will give you $4000 if you don’t kill me” So, at 4:00 he had the police waiting in the house to arrest the guy and then the killer guy said Barney’s wife asked him to do this. I do not know if he went to jail but Barney’s wife got 6 months in jail! Wow. I never heard this story before.
    cool story huh?

Okay. Yesterday I went to Target to get my blood pressure pills (I take a really low dose) and the pharmacist cheated me out of 10 pills. I did not realize this until I got home. I called the pharmacy and spoke with her. She acted like I was lying.
What a pain in the neck huh? I politely insisted that she give me my 10 pills.

I have been really lazy lately. I start projects and do not complete them. so annoying.

My dad took this photo of my mom. She goes to an exercise class every morning at 10 am right in the neighborhood. It is for old folks. I have never been, but last summer when Blizzie stayed with her g-rents, she went every morning with mom. She said the teacher (around age 45) is very very good and the exercises are fun and you do get a good workout. Blizzie did tell me the teacher looks like she lives in the “80′s” as she wears the most dorky clothing and these big goofy looking glasses.
    puzzling indeed.
so anyway, EVERY year my mom dresses up for Mardi Gras. When we lived in europe it was a big deal everywhere, the parades and everyone dresses up for Mardi Gras in europe, it is like halloween, except yeah, no trick or treating. So she just loves dressing up for Mardi Gras.
    There she is. my mom.

I must end here. I will update very soon
I hope you are having a nifty week-end so far.
We are supposed to get some trashy snow/rain/sleet weather starting tonight.
Oooooh I should send hubby out for milk… we are out of milk and here in the DC area everyone buys all the food when we get just one snowflake the entire Washington metro area goes into a weather related frenzy.
Pierro and his “anaconda” …. packing paper for some car parts hubby ordered a few days ago. The paper is just one loooong strip about 20 feet long haha

    Someone should do a comparison
    between Obama’s economics
    and Bernie Madoff’s investment company.

have you received your coupons in the mail yet?
I hope you get yours soon
  • Happy day
you can print this out and put it on your car.

Lots of fun to be had.

Develop a taste for turnips, gang. You can fry them (in lard, no butter – too expensive), boil them and mash ‘em up, use them to thicken your stone stew or just roast ‘em over the barrel fires that will be on every corner next winter. Can be grown most anywhere, like carrots. Delish!
I hope you have a fabbie week-end. I am planning on it.

And all the “bailouts” on earth can’t stop a train if it’s running really fast.

  • I should update right now and immediately, but I am super tired.
I went to my parentpeeps today in Annapolis MD and had a fun time.
My mom forced me to wash her kitchen floor LOL just kidding. she begged me.
I washed her floors and cleaned her kitchen, haha

We went for a walk and blabbed about a lot of fun stuff.
I will try to blog about it tomorrow or this week-end… right now, hoo boy I have to do a zillion things and then jump in bed.
tomorrow I have a long list of things to do.  shop shop and shop.
I am going to buy a new kitchen faucet at Homie Depot b/c ours is old and cruddy and looks really dopey too.

    Love always, Rosemary

    Unless God has other plans . . . . .
He has permission to scuttle all agendas.
  • quickie entry here. I have lots to do yet and then I have to jump in bed and sleep a lot. I am skating tomorrow.
I do not have a busy week, except for skating shopping and cleaning and sewing. I will probably go out to my parents on Thursday and hang around there for a while. They are very funny.

I re-upholstered my parents chairs, 4 of them, and last month I went out there and put them together with my staple gun and stuff. They keep their house so warm, man I was sweating.

Anyway, one thing we joke about is if we have a crisis everyone in the family will move to our house (this is just one of our silly ideas we always imagine) since our house is so huge. Hubby already joked that if that were to come about, he would sound proof his office here on the main level (where he works every day) and hide in there. haha
Dad and I would go out and barter for things by offering our expert services of recovering chairs, and other “handy things” (my dad and I are not handy but we try. He and I worked together to do their chairs and it was nothing short of a “mutt and jeff” operation.

Anyway, I said I was going to be quick here, so I thought I would share with you some kitty pics.
Pierro loves climbing in bed with Prin. She is not crazy about this but if he is still and not wiggly she will let him stay in the cuppiebed with her.

Pierro is a goofy adorable lovetigerpuff.

    Princess: almost 18 years old

What kind of weather do you have?
Here it is cold and very windy. Hubby and I went for our daily walk. It was not as bad as a few other times we went out it felt like Siberia. We had snow this morning, then sun and wind.

hey, here is another cool thing. I have not been to the oncologist/hematologist in over a year… maybe a year and a half. So anyway, I had some routine bloodwork done at my regular medical doc. My tests came out perfect. The globulin and globulin/albumin levels were normal !?!? yeah really. Still, I found a new doc and I might just go out to her for a consultation.
Anyway, I have to take calcium. My calcium is low! rats. I have to take 500mg 3xaday. Those tablets (Os-Cal +D) taste nasty but the Viactive chocolates taste kind of okay, sort of. not really yummy. I am not good about taking “pills” so I am trying really hard to take these dopey calcium supplements every day so I do not crumble in to a heap of bone dust haha

So yeah. do you have a busy week?
What did you have for dinner huh?
    We had soup

I am gonna try to blog more. Really

    okay bye now.

Word for the next 4 years…
    Subterfuge!

  • Hey xanga people. I apologise for not being around much.

    I have been busy.

I hope everything is going well with you.
Here, things are wonderful. Hubby and I are living here in this huge house just the two of us.
We could not sell this place if we wanted to. we have so many houses on the market here, mostly people just moving, job transfers, the usual in the DC area. We are content here in our neighborhood. We live in a lovely community in a park with lots of woods and paths to frolic in every day, so no worries. It is just getting to be a huge chore cleaning this place.

    How are you?
I have been baking, skating (a lot), playing the piano, sewing, walking every day, cooking different stuff,
working on silly little projects, and in general, just – trying to stay out of trouble.

Life is hilarious. Our “POTUS” is a joke. As I suggested in the past, please get your personal investments and finances… in order
and prepare for the future, we are in for a nasty ride. Well, forget your finances… Soon your house may be worth nothing, funny huh? Perhaps in 4 years our $$ will be worth zero. weeeeeeee
Wouldn’t it be nice to purchase a two million $ home right now and perhaps a few new expensive cars? Maybe a vacation home in the mountains LOLOL Would you like to pay my mortgage?
We could get our daughters to co-sign on the loans, even though one just got out of college and has obligations of her own (and what? she can’t help up with the mortgage??)… and Blizzie, well, she is busily slaving at kollig
Everyone is responsible to bail out  the people who made bad decisions and bought stuff they could never pay for.
I can tell you here in our neighborhood we have many foreclosures, folks bought and living in a huge house, no furniture for four years then boom there goes their mortgage. Thank you Barney and Chris. Things were going wonderful until the dems took over congress.
And where is mr. hope n’ change? Oh now he is mr. gloom n’ doom. greeeeeat. 50% of the folks You are bailing out with your tax $$ will default again…. so then what? will you give them more of your money? we are on the 6 lane expressway to the most ginormous dept for your children. we are sacrificing our children.

So what is making you happy these days?

In other news, we are having video chat as usual with my parents Thursdays at 2pm. These chats last about an hour and a half and they are very fun and enjoyable.  This is from yesterday’s chat. I almost forgot about it, then at the last minute I remembered … so I look like I have been cleaning bathrooms… yeah, I had been.

I have to end here for now.
    Princess is demanding my presence.
Pierro is stinking up the house.
Perhaps I can blog again later.
Maybe a few lame pictures too.
    You are loved. really!

    No President can save people
    from their own stupidity…
a government giveaway (with our tax money)
    only enables further irresponsibility.

  • Another Tuesday.
    I am cleaning today.
Why am I sitting here at the computer typing? Well…
I found a special exclusive rear view photo of Mt. Rushmore.
I had to share it with you.

Have you seen the cover of Mad magazine?
lol empty suit boy cannot handle it

I hope you are having a marvy day.
I am going to get a zillion things done today… and even go for a walk.
The sun is out and it is windy but what the heck.

    more later.
lots going on here. I have been mighty busy.
I hope all of you are well.
    what is going on?
Have you hidden your money yet?

    CHANGE… HOPE ?
One suspects the average American will grow to loath those two words.
    Here is why .
A common flaw some folks seem to have is the belief
that someone else can make their life better.
Robert Frost wrote a poem titled “The Road Not
Taken”. Americans are again at the fork in the
road and have chosen to take the heavily traveled
path into socialism/Marxism as so many have
traveled before. One can see where that path
leads but most Americans today, unlike Frost, do
not even bother to look far down the socialism
path to see and access it’s failures.
