  • Hi everybody! Remember me?
    How are things?
(You can update me in my comments section if you desire)

Here.... busy. Really. I do not think I have been busier ever. Okay, well that is not true.
    I guess I am just ..... overwhelmed.

    WHAT is going on?
I believe a non-blogger has taken over my brain.

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Blizzie just left to take a travel trip to the mountains in Maryland (one hour drive) to visit a friend of her that is a camp counselor.
She will come home Saturday. She has a job at a stupid grocery store here (part time, barely) She hates the job. I think she should just quit.
Lots of other stuff going on with Bliz. She is doing well. She has been very busy this summer.

Chrystabelle moved 4 miles away to an adorrrrrable apartment. She has a really good job.

Oh, I forgot to say, she is sharing the apartment with her boyfriend, Jason.

I am done freaking out about that.
There are worse things in life.
It is important now, to not... NOT drift apart. Fortunately we have a very very good relationship with these two extremely + terribly young YOUNG kids.

Last night, we had the loOooonngest video-chat (in the history of video-chat) with my mom and dad. 2 hours long. really
My mom and dad are very cute and wonderful. My mom loves to blab. We would still be having video-chat right now, but at 10 PM last night I had to tell my mom that Blizzie had to say good-night and take a shower, because she  had to  go to work today. So, we ended the chat.

Hubby is busy. He is working at home and doing three jobs. He needs to be busy.
Three or four of our big trees have some big disease and hubby had to go out and get some chemical to treat the disease.

We are having a SERIOUS drought here in Northern Virginia. We are still allowed to water the trees and gardens, but our grass is... tan colored and I do not care. I decided early in the summer that we were not going to bust our butts watering the lawn to keep it green and lush... hence, hubby has only had to mow twice since the beginning of Joon. If the weather does not change and get rainy soon.... we are going to be on water restriction. I feel it...

What else... me. I am doing okay.
    I miss skating.
I am giving both kitties subq flooids. They are fine with it. They love me.
okay, well Princess was a struggle for a long time. She does not really like being handled so it took a while. Today we had the best session getting flooids in her. It took 1 and a half minutes. She just lays in her little kitty bed and all is fine.

    Caesar is a picnic.

It was really nice here and I did a ton of work in my gardens, cleaning up, but now it is hot again. I do not like hot weather.

They finally sell Kashi crackers at Safeway.
I am glad. Trader Joe's is too far away from A-burn.

I am on chapter seven in the Deathly Hallows, HP-7. See, I do not even have time to read....
Blizzie is almost done actually. One chapter left for her. Chrystabelle's boyfriend lent me his book.

I have to end here and take care of the neighbors two cats (Squeaky and Muffin). Oh wow those cats are very cute. One is very tubby, the other is quite shy, but secretly loves me.

Then, I am going to try and be peppy.

So, tell me. Is everything groovy in your world?

    Like all great travelers,
I have seen more than I remember,
and remember more than I have seen.

  • Hey youz
I am going to uppdate later.
Blizzie and I are going shopping
    Life is busy here.
    I have been slaving, peeps.
I need to go out and buy myself a present... or just get out of here

    maybe this evening.
    maybe some pictures.
    maybe even more....

We had video-chat last night. hilarious.

  • Today we (well, hubby, Blizz and I) went to see the Harry Potter moovie.
It was good. I liked it.
We went to the new Theater in Brambleton (Fox) and it is a very snazzy theater. Plus there is a parking garage (who woul dhave ever thought there would be a parking garage right down the street from us. A-burn/B-lands is getting all city-fied. We parked in the parking garage... Good grief, it was pretty empty. The theater was pretty empty too. All of those Sterling people have not found this new theater and are still going to that crappy Regal in Cascades.
Anyway, wew smuggled in our own healthy food. I liked the movie. Well done for such a big fat book.

I am sick of summer. It is not too hot here, but it is pretty warm, and extremely dry.
We do not water our grass. The lawn is dormant now and I do not care. The neighbor has a sprinkler system and that thing goes on every morning.
    he mows every week.
We have not mowed in a month. seriously. Well, actually "we" do not mow, hubby mows. I refuse to mow. I have never mowed in my life.
I could mow, but I choose to not mow, because hubby needs to mow. Besides I find mowing exhausting and boring, even though I have never mowed, still, I know mowing would be a dull task.

This is all that I have to report.
Oh! I am going to skate on Monday. I have not skated in 6 weeks should be interesting.

okay, this is really all I have to report

Oh there is plenty going on here, but I really donot want to share, yet.
Most of it is dull, some of it is shocking, and a small portion of it is annoying.
    anyway.
    Happy Week-end.

than to speak and remove all doubt.....

  • Tonight we have video-chat...
Here is a short note from Caesar.
He was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure (he is 16 years old) and must have daily 100mg subq electrolytes.
This procedure is kind of like "dialysis"
Princess is also 16, she has a milder case and should be having subq's but.... that is not happening. yet.

    I hope everyone is wonderful.
Here things are great, a lot going on.
    me

    Caesar:

I am really sick and tired -- I mean completely bored with these subq's.

    Every
day: .... Mommie is always aware of my location
and it's possibilities... to hang that
dumb bag! As I am sleeping so peacefully, she hovers with that stupid bag wrapped in foil (to
    protect the contents from sunlight).

    Then... stab/ow/sit still.
It has gotten to the point that when I see mommie... I wake up quickly to full alertness and quietly vacate the premises.

can't you see I am busy now?

    click to bigify

    no-no mommie...take that away please...

    NOW,
she brings a bowl, a spoon, and my favvvverite baby foods... she sets
the whole deal next to me, hangs that stoopit bag up (it is on a
hanger) and forces me to sit and stare at the bowl and the jar of the
most yummy meat-goo ever, and the spoon... so, I see the reward. I want that reward.

    Today...
the same. I know I will get the stabbing... and the reward, sometime
between 1:00 and 5:00. Mommie is very goal oriented
(a retired RN too). Her new plan is working.

  • Here are two screen shots from our weekly video-chat last night (rescheduled from Wednesday because of the holiday) with the grandparents:
The first picture here is my mom untangling dad's foot from the wires
We think his foot was tangled in the speaker wires or something, who knows....
They have a macBook too. We also both have speakers that we hook up to the laptop for better audio.

    Then,
this screenshot, my dad (who is getting quite deaf by the way) is telling us about the guys coming out and
fixing their air conditioning system and then the conversations moved on to other things like service
contracts on various appliances around the house...
As you can see, my mom was sort of bored so she was looking around the room...

Our video-chats always last about 1 and a half hours now.... always fun.

    Happy week-end

  • Seven Random "Tings"?
    well.... I am hardly random.

Okay here are the rools (augmented by me):

    1. People who are tagged need to share seven random facts/habits about themselves on their own personal blog  (please, not in the comments section of someone elsees blog).
    2. Include the rules for pity sake.
    3. Choose eleventyseven people to tag, include their names cell phone numbers and shoe size, and leave them a sweet comment and tell them they've been tagged, or promise them something chocolate.

    Rools - schmools.
If you want to do this... go for it.
I was tagged a bunch of times... but Teri gave me the biggest nudge and promised me a chocolate cake.

okay... I am thinking here. I am really thinking.

    Uh.....

    1. I like brussels sprouts.

    2. I am very very flexabibble and my friends call me gumby or rubberband lady.

    3. I make up names for people.... for instance, Blizzie, Chrystabelle, Jazbo, Dippy, Pegleg.... etc I have done this all my life... for a while there when I was a kid I called my dad "pappy" just to be annoying

    um....

    4. I am usually very enthusiastic.... unless I am feeling crummy, but I am good at being motivational. Sometimes I can even motivate myself!

    5. I am horribly immature and hyper

6... whew almost dun... I hardly ever walk around in my barefeets. I wear sneakers or socks a LOTTTT

    7.  I have a few silly neurotic phobias I would rather not go in to here.

    The end.

Actually... now that I have done that, I discovered a few other random weird things floating around in my head... but too late. Only 7. all done.

    Life is busy here today.
Caesar had allergy to something and he was all puffy yesterday... actually I did not register the situation until about 10 PM last night and ended up bringing him to the ER vet... they gave him a shot in the butt, and no steroids, because he has a heart murmur. We came home at 12:30 and I was hyper so it took me a long time to get to sleep because I could not do the squiggly sudoku's I usually do in bed at night to make me unbelieveably sleepy, because hubby was already asleep.

Today Caesar was better but still itchy. I took him to the regular vetlady and he spent the day at the vet.
I am not accustomed to sick kitties. Caesar and Prin have been so healthy their whole life.... then DING, they turn 16 and everything happens.
So, I have been spending a lot of $$$$ and not on new frippy summer outfits.
That's okay. The last time I went clothes shopping I was disappointed anyway.
I love my kitties dearly. They are 16 and I need to take care of them.

    I must end here.
Tomorrow is another day... and I must get some rest so I can be perky.

  • I am here...
not much on the internet though.

I have not been feeling at all like being in bloggieland.
    I have been quite busy.

This week-end we spent all of Saturday at my parents. We celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Wegmans made me a really cute cake to bring them.  Joyce and Andrei came out too. She brought them some gorgeous pink roses. We had a really fun day.

Then we got carry out from this fabulous greek restuarant. We were considering eating there but Joyce brought a friend for Andrei and really the kids would not have enjoyed sitting in a restaurant for three or four hours. This worked out perfectly. We ate a lot of food and had a great day and came home at 10:30 PM

Caesar and Princess are doing well. Caesar is mostly quiet but he does have his loud happy moments. Both kitties, at age 16, are really slowing down.

The vetlady said they are doing fine and Prinnie does not need the subq's but if I could get them in her that would be great but both kitties are benefitting from the Hills K/D and the nutritional supplement.  The kitties are not exhausting to care for. It is really fine, and they are so cute. Oh! they had their teeth cleaned last Tuesday and that went well too. they have good teeth!

I have been quite busy. I have not skated in two weeks!!
There are a few Mondays available at Cabin John in July, I will take advantage of them.

Both girls are busy this summer. Christina has submitted her resume online and many companys are calling!
Lizzie is doing an internship with the Loudoun Youth Orchestra... doing some clerical work with the president of the organization. She always has some interesting story to tell me about that.

This is all I have to share today.
    I am doing okay.

I am sorry I do not blog much... I feel like I stepped into a another place in my life and everything is different. I am not sure where I am going.

  • Happy Monday. I guess  I will try to blog one time a week, until I get myself into some kind of schedule here.
Did you have a delightful Father's Day celebration?
On Saturday, Blizzie and I baked a chocolate cake and a whole pile of oatmeal cookies with dried cranberries and white chocolate.
    They were very yummy.
We went to my parents on Sunday (brought cake and cookies)... and next Saturday we are going back to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. 60 years!
Did I plan anything special? no. I should have but I didn't.
My sister is always busy and my brother is busy too.
We are taking them to their favorite restaurant in Annapolis, the Greek place, Chris's.

Anyway, that is at the end of the week... I have a whole lot of things to wade through until then.
The kitties are doing okay. Princess also has kidney disease so they both really need subq fluids but I can not convince Prinnie to recieve them.
    She gets really grumpy.
The vetlady said not to push her though. She might do fine with the special prescription diet foods and the powder supplement.

Caesar loves the treatments and purrrrrrs while he is getting the fliuds.
They both love the new food.

I have been really really tired and kind of in a bummy moood.
It is boiling hot here already. I do not like summer.
Hubby went to a conference in Norfolk Va for a few days... some fancy hotel and everything.
I could not go, because Caesar and Princess have doc appointments this week and treatments and pills every day.
It is okay. I love my kitties. Hubby will be busy the whole time and he is bringing me back all the company clutter doo-dads.
I have not been around xanga much... if I am not taking care of the kitties I am doing important things.
I do not have much goof off time.

I hope all is well with everyone. If something terrible and horrible is going on, message me and let me know.

  • I am going to update my bloggie sometime soon.
I mean a full update on every teensy thing going on in my fully bloated life.

    I have been really busy.
    things are going okay here.
Caesar is still breathing, and I think he still loves me.
Both kitties are going to the vetlady tomorrow at noonie.

I am skating one day a week. I skated today and had a great wonderful skate.
I actually can still skate well! and I remembered all of my lessons and sheeeesh that is good.

Here he is. Mr. Caesar lovebucket boy.

    lots and lots going on.

Prinnie is doing well too. She is much healthier and more alert than Caesarboy, and she is perky.

It is all good. I love my old kitties. They have given me sooo much happiness the past 16 years.
I will love them until they tell me they have had enough.

When I am done being busy I will dump it all here.
I have to go upstairs now and give Caesar his treatment. oh goodie. not. well, he is tolerating it but not purring up a storm when I am doing the subQ.
He has dementia too... a little, I think. So after the treatment he gets a bit pouty, then I have to get him happy again and tell him how wonderful and brave and amazing, and hugely tigerlike he is. It always works, then he goes prancing around like an old man lifting up his old wobbly stick legs. It is so cute.

    Be well
    I am.
