  • Greetings everypeople.
Well, first about Pierro… I have not put the two kitties together because, as an overly cautious former nurse… something told me to wait, at least until he was completely checked out by the doc and that the little kitten could adjust to the new environment (my bad piano playing included).
Last week Pierro had his hoo-ha’s removed and guess what? he tested postive for giardia in his poop, which is common in catteries.
And with the situation with the breeder being what it was, it was bound to happen.

Oh! I did not tell you about the breeder? Well, this guy was a really sweet russian fellow, Blizzie and I went there initially over spring break, one Saturday.
We went to his house and the place looked like it had not been cleaned much for a month or two… but it was fairly clean really, just tremendously cluttery, and a few completely dried out flower arrangements. So anyway, we met this guy and he told us about the kitties and so we played with them and I immediately fell in love with Pierro… so
Gosh this is a long story. I will just cut to the ending here.
Turns out the next week when hubby and I went out there he confessed to us that his wife died of a heart attack in February and he was managing everything on his own… and this was her passion, breeding showing cornish rex kitties. So he is just some retired guy living on his own managing the cattery.

so. Pierro is on meds for giardia. Princess does not exhibit any signs that she has the bacteria. The vet wanted me to give her the ghastly tasting treatments as well, I did for a few days and then yesterday stopped. so she has had 4 days of treatment. Pierro… it is obvious he is not over this.
Well, he is the very sweetest loveable kitty ever. He is Caesar back again as a kitten.
Today I took him in my arms and brought him to Princess (she will be 17 in 9 days)
Princess did not hiss. She raised her head from her nap and meowed gently to him. Three times.
I told her she was fantastic and amazing and then I took Pierro the poopkitty away.

    so, what else is now.
    Not much here.
I skate one day a week and I like that. I walk about two three miles a day (quickly) which is super great for the bloodpressure, wowie, for real!

OH my dad got the silver and the gold in the senoir Olympics this past week-end.
The gold in Singles Tennis final
(dad and his opponent) my dad is the guy in the red

and a silver in the Doubles Tennis final
    (dad and his partner)

I would tell you more stuff, but it is pretty dull, but certainly not boring.

The sun is not shining. we have had drabbiness for about 5 days and it looks like it will continue all the way into the week-end.
    yay.

I hope you are happy and peppy.
    always ~ moi

  • I am very quickly turning into a random blogger now.
Life has been busy, well, I have a way of always keeping busy.

Blizzie was home for Easter break and that was super nice. We did many things togetehr but she also had a fair amount of homework, papers to write.
She is most likely going to transfer to William and Mary (same college Chrystabelle graduated from in Williamsburg), and studying international relations or global studies. One of those.
We went one day to DC (it is nice living so close to the nation’s capitol, yet far enough not to have to deal with that nutty city) and went to several art galleries. It was enjoyable and the weather was decent.

I have been skating one day a week. It is okay, really. Skating is great fun, I love my friends but one or two days is really all I am interested in these days.
    I still skate well…
Hubby and I walk every day.

I am feeling better about Caesar. I never thought I would step out of that sadness, but the grieving did ease.
I still miss him, but I do not sob anymore.
Then, Blizzie and I did something — we went to this guy in Fairfax about 30 minutes away, a cornish rex breeder and we looked and played with his kittens.

I have a kitten. He is 6 months old. I never would have considered this, but this kitten is so much like Caesar. very sweet. not aggressive.
His name is Pierro. Right now he is living in Blizzie’s room (where I am typing this with a kitten on my lap). Princess is aware of him but she has not met him. she can hear him. he has a very sweet gentle meow. Next week I will have them trade places (rooms) for about 4 minutes, then put them back in their own places. I wil do this once a day. then the week after I will put Pierro in the prison box and put him in a neutral area for Princess to observe for about 2 minutes… or less.
She is not aggressive. Pierro is not either, he is not scratchy or bitey.
Anyway, here he is. I have had a terrible time photographing him, he is always moving.

What else, oh, I have been busy.
Blizzie and I went to my parents for lunch one day when she was home. That was fun. My parents are getting old but they are doing quite well.

I better end here… speaking of… I should email my mom and see what she is up to.
I have not heard from them since last Thursday!!

I think Blizzie is coming home this week-end… not sure.
Pierro is having his surgery this Friday morning… poor thing. He will be much happier though… uh, right?

    Until next time
    me

    Keep smiling
    - it makes people wonder what you’ve been up to.

I have been worst xanga blogger ever.
I should be stripped of my true badge!

  • well, I do not have much to blog about these days.
I am just a super dull person now.
Also, sometimes I do stuff… and then I forget I did it, so I can’t blog about it.

I just made oatmeal cookies. Hubby and I ate a whole lot of them.
I put some in a container so we will stop eating them.

I already moved up most of the clocks in this house. It is 6:30 instead of 5:30 haha

Life is still strange and terrible without my sweet boy kitty Caesar around.
I think I am going to miss him forever.

As soon as forever is through,
    I’ll be over you.

    ~Toto

Prinnie is doing okay. She is really funny. Loves to eat. she would eat until she could pop if I let her… but I am a meanie and give her small portions and oh so stingy snacks. She prefers to stay up stairs in her paradise room. We have a very open house so it is warmer upstairs but we can see her.
She stands at the top of the stairs and meows really loud.
That means she wants something, either crunchies or fresh water. She does not like old water.
I have to change it twice a day at least other wise she meows really loud.
    Caesar never did this.
He was very vocal but not demanding.

Blizzie comes home next week for Spring Break.
I am completely looking forward to that.

Other stuff is going on that I will not share. Nothing terrible… just family stuff.
We are a close family and so… we take care of each other.

OH Andrei turned TEN on the 4th.

My sister sent me a few pictures. This one if my favorite
edit: oh oops I forgot to mention, Andrei is the guy on the far left with the glasses
forgot to tell you… he is soooo cute.

    What else.
Man it poured rain here all day yesterday.
This morning Christabelle and I went to target for a very small pile of things, then we got home and it started clearing up.
The sun came out… loads of blue sky, no big clouds, 44 degrees
I was thinking about going for a walk but by the time I REALLY started thinking about going out for a walk… it started pouring again.
So, then that was that… well, 10 minutes later the sun came out again and this time it looked very good.
I went for a walk. Hubby came along too… we went up the street on to the woods path, walked all the way through then came out way at the other end and then walked up the street… we were going to go straight on but I saw a black cloud through the trees, from the west and pointed it out. Hubby said “lets cut this short”. I did not want to. I said, “we are not made of paper, we are water proof”…. well, he got his way and we cut through the other woods and ended up at the bottom of our street and walked up the hill and by the time we got to our front door… the second we got up the steps, it started HAILING like nuts… I mean heavily.

Okay so I guess it is good we did not go the long way.
    Now it is really windy.

Oh gosh what do you think of all of this hoopla about Obamessiah?
Can you imagine this guy as president?
All I can say is if you have any money, hide it now.

I think I will end here… and start dinner.
I hope all of you are happy and healthy.

    ~me

  • Greetings happy people.
I am sorry I have not been blogging.
I have been busy, lazy and etcetera.

Now it is the week-end coming up. Another week-end. Another Sunday.
This Sunday will be *sniff* 6 weeks since my Caesar left me in such sad state.
I am going to keep his picture in my profile pic forever.
    I miss him.

    Princess is doing quite well.

The house is much tidier with only Princess.
I did not realize that Caesar was that messy in the litterbox and with his food…
I knew he was resposible for most big messes but…
I really had no idea that Princess was actually so neat with everything.

    one of Caesar’s little surprises….

He was my funny old man and I will miss him forever.
some day, I hope to have another rex kitty. They are amazing cats, very very loveable.
This is a pic from when they were 9 weeks old … in 1991!

I have only been skaitng one day a week! Yes, I know shocking.
Well, I have just been finding other things to do.

Hubby and I walk almost every day. He works at home now, so rarely he has to go in for a meeting.

I have to go into my other photo folder to find the pictures of the dutch foods.
    I will do that soon…

It is getting grey and drabbie here… we are expecting a very little bit of rain but it is only 32 degrees
so I think we will go for a walk soon.
Then… I will hunt for those pictures of my goodies… of which there are a few still unopened.

    Where you used to be,
there is a hole in the world,

which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime,
    and falling in at night.
    I miss you

    ~Edna St. Vincent Millay

  • I love cookies
I do not think I have ever eaten a cookie that I did not like. Well, let me think…
Okay I am not too fond of fig Newtons. I can eat those when forced.
Are there any gross cookies in the world? Probably. I have not eaten them though.
yeah, I am sure there are some bad cookies out there.

I know there is bad cake. I went to a cambodian birthday party about two years ago.
That was a bad cake. It had NO sugar and it was inedible… The icing tasted like wax.
Maybe it was a fake cake.

I am doing okay. living. breathing.
    I hope you are too.

I have bell choir in an hour and a half.
I am going to quit the choir, yep, really, in May, after our concert.
I am just tired of it.
    Today we played in church.
I do not really like our church much either but I won’t go into that now.

Here, it is getting ready to rain. It is super drab out there.

I have had much much thought about all sorts of things since I last blogged but I just never got them here.
    Some of it was profound.
I do not remember any of it.

We (hubby and I) ordered a whole pile of dutch foods from this place in Marquette Michigan. They have a huge assortment of goodies.
The box arrived on Valentine’s day and we dug right in. Well, I did.
Hubby has lots and lots of self control.
    I do not.

I should go for a walk this afternoon, but I am lazy. Tomorrow, I will go for a long walk because I probably will not skate …  the holiday= madness at the rink.

Okay I am boring myself here so I will go.
Oh, yesterday we went to my parents in Annapolis. They are looking fine. My mom looks thin and tired.
She was perky. She hates pills and she is taking lots of them now.
We ate dinner at a Grrreeek restaurant called um, Chris’s. We ate a lot and as usual I had a lot of cheap wine.
Chrystabelle came by twice to check on and love Princess while we were gone.
We have not been leaving her alone for long periods of time.

    Okay, I am done.
I will try to update this later this week.

    and change is Nature’s delight.

  • okay
    I am still here.
Thank you for being my frins. I have had a tough time with this.
Caesar was an amazing kittyboy and I am sorry, I am a softie for animals.
    I still miss him terribly.

    Princess is doing okay
A lot of things have happened since I last blogged here.

Blizzie was home and we took Prin to the vet. She is doing okay. she needs subq’s one day a week… I havenot been able to do that.
Prinnie only liked getting the subq’s in that little round bed… and now she refuses to use that bed.
She is making the adjustment to being an only kitty.

I have only skated one day this week. Just tired. do not feel like it.

Hubby and I are watching tv right now. we just watched Atlantis blast off. That was major cool.

    What else.
So, if Hillary moves back into the white house, do you think she will bring back all that stuff she stole when they moved out?

Yesterday it was 71 degrees here. I went for a walk but had to cut it very short and come home because I was boiling hot.
Today it is 50. Very strange weather for Northern Virginia.

My mom. She has been doing fine. Last week the doc office called her in the middle of the day (she was having a nice day until….) they told her to change the dosages of her several heart meds and “come in for another cardioversion next week” (yesterday). My mom…. I am a lot like her, she got really bummed and mad. She said she was feeling fine. I saw her last week at Joyce’s house. We went there for Joyce’s b-day. I took her pulse, it was pretty normal, certainly not irregular.

So, they showed up yesterday, mom and dad. Mom was NPO since the night before and here it is 11AM.  The procedure was to be at 1:00PM.
Good grief there is no consideration for 84 year olds is there?… well, so they wait in this room, mom in a gown in a bed and dad with her…. for 4 hours. My mom was getting really cranky — I mean very anxious, bored and upset and HUNGRY.
I tried to call dad’s phone but they do not work in the hospital.
Anyway, finally that doclady showed up … looked at mom and told her never mind they were not going to do the cardioversion because her heart was fine and regular.

Okay I did not know any of this until dad called me when they finally got home at 4PM!
I would have gone out there yesterday morning but the weather here was kinda horrible. Now it is probably a good thing I did not go because I would have been very mean to them.

Okay. This is really all I have to share.
I will try to visit your bloggies. I have been reading them in my subs but not commenting… sorry.
Here is a picture of my Princess Curliepants

I am going to take good care of this sweet kitty

Again, thank you for being here for me. Thank you for the prayers and all of your kindness.

I have the nicest frins in the world.
thank you for such lovely comforting words.
trust me, they were very very encouraging.

today I skated at Cabin John.
I really did not feel like going… but hubby urged me to go.
What a great rink and all of my good friends were there. They gave me lots of hugs and even let me cry a bit.
Only Jim said “oh gosh it’s only a cat” and that was a mistake on his part. He is just lucky he did not get physically harmed.
Everyone was all over him on that.

Every morning I wake up and think it is a dream.
Princess is doing well. Caesar was my puppy dog. Princess is every bit a cat. She seems to be thrilled with the fact that everything belongs to her now… and the slaves will be tending to her every need.

Caesar always came running when I called him (well at 16 and a half he more like hobbled quickly). Princess never comes when she is called.
I call her for her afternoon meal… and she just waits. She wants me to bring it to her! She has 5 snuggly beds around the house, so my job is to go fine which fluffy throne she is relaxing in… and serve her.
    nutty.

Blizzie came home for the week-end and that was very helpful for me.
Last week was like a dream, and today… it seems like Caesar just died yesterday.
Obviously i did not skate last week, that would have been impossible but skating today was okay.

Thank you for your sweet friendship.

I have been playing some piano yesterday and today… Lord of the Rings stuff mostly. Blizzie comes home and she is just so much better than me.
One day I am going to force her to help me get better.

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,

Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

Thank you for being my friend
