Hi, We took  a  little walk around here too. It is getting cold.
Easy day today,  shopping in the morning, stock up the house with goodies. (healthy stuff, no junk)  With these holidays I have quite a few little boxes with leftovers,  so this week we’ll eat mostly the leftovers,  just fine with me. I don’t know how this week is going to be.  According to reports this will be just a procedure in the Hospital. It will take one hour, and then one hour recouperation. and that’s all, you walk out of the Hospital!!!

Well, we’ll see what happens. Got a phonecall from the Hospital this morning, and they want me there on Wed.morning at 5.30 am.???!!!
Are they out of their minds?  I balked, but they would not change it!  The procedure would be at 7.30 am.   Well, I’ll get there when I get there!! I’ll do my best. Dad will come along.
Well, if you want to come on Wednesday afternoon?  for moral support!  I hope things will go O.K., I’m a bit uneasy.
We’re gonna hang around tonight, listen to PBS with music from Vienna, and then later on the Ball in NewYork.
HAPPY NEW YEAR !      Mom & Dad

I am leaving for Annapolis tomorrow around 10.. so I will not meet them at the hospital early in the morning. I would have to leave the house here at 3:30 AM.
Dad has my cell phone number.
    I hope everything goes well.

    Be happy.

what exactly do you think this means?

  • I’ll be keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers. {{{HUGS}}}

  • Will send warm thoughts your mother’s way (and your way too!). xo

  • What I think that quote means is that once we are prejudiced on any subject, our minds are made up and we don’t care about the facts.

Wow….5:30 a.m. is WAY too early.  I hope all goes well!

  • great ,that you will be there and I believe that it is a straightforword procedure. Just sounds scarey.  I think the quote at the botttom means that we have our own beleifs so it’s hard to fit the truth in.

  • how on earth can the docs and staff we awake at that hour?  ugh, I guess they aren’t morning ppl.

prayers for your mom tomorrow.  have a safe trip.

  • They’ll sedate her and shock her heart. It doesn’t take long at all…and then the longest time is just waiting for her blood pressure to maintain at a normal rate and they’ll probably give her a little something to eat.  I hope it regulates her heart and gets it back in rhythm.

Mom had it done three times…and she is one tough cookie to knock out. The last time was a bear. They really had to load her up!!   But because she had had the Maze procedure during her valve replacement, so far this cardioversion has worked.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow and drive safely.

  • Prayer is sent for your mom and dad and you.

  • I too will send prayers your mother’s way.  After reading Bonnie’s comment, I now (somewhat) understand what the procedure is that they will do to your mother.

  • Whew, that is EARLY!  Still, it sounds like it is something that is not too out-of-the-ordinary, as those things go.  I will have you in my thoughts tomorrow.

Hmm, you could take that quote several ways, couldn’t you?  I think that it could refer to religion, where faith triumphs “fact”, or it could refer to people that have their minds made up, no matter the evidence to the contrary.

  • That is really early.  I imagine they want them there that early so they get all the prestuff done so that they can actually do the procedure at the scheduled time.  But still…..  Hope they don’t have to contend with snow like we do here!

  • keep us posted, alright?
    and drive safely.

…i think it means that facts won’t change a persons opinion when their mind is already made up about something.

  • Hi Rosemary, thanks so much for stopping by!  It’s so great to see you again!  Please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers!  I hope everything will be okay and that you and your family will have a great Year in 2008 and always!  Love to you! (((Hugs))

  • I hope all went well…

It means, “Don’t confuse me with the facts…my mind’s already made up.”

  • Pray everything is fine with your mom, She is in my thoughts and prayers as well as you and your family.

Let me know how she is doing.  Love and blessings
