  • First of all, I am back from my trippie.
    It was …. wow
I did all of the driving. I drove 1400 miles in 5 days. Saturday being the only day that we did local driving around Nashville… man that wedding was everywhere.
Thank you Jesus for Garmin nuvi.

now I am really tired. I slept pretty crummy last night.
I will tell you all about it later.
right now, I just want to sleep. a lot.

    Oh first of all.
    What the heck is this?
The office of the PRESIDENT ELECT??

    omg
    what a glaring pomposity
Someone should tell Obama that the President is a public SERVANT, not the ANOINTED KING

[edit]: No other president elect has acted as if they’re emperor of the world.

From the Greek Olympus Temple at the convention, to the “columnated”
victory party (what’s his obsession with Greek/Roman architecture),
he’s proven that he has delusions of grandeur, including this stupid
    plaque.

Humility is a beautiful thing. Maybe he should learn a little.

    gah, I need sleep

  • LOL! I LOVE that last line! I agree, he needs to get a CLUE pretty quick!

  • I heard him called a “prince” in a Time Magazine article.

Guess what?  Mr. Incredible is in your neck of the woods…I think your neck of the woods….he’s in Maryland.  He flies home tomorrow.

  • That’s actually quite normal and historical. From this point on, most of the things he does will follow a historical path. The office is necessary because he has to get things organized before he takes over. If he waits, then the transition time is longer.

  • I did not know there was an office of the president-elect. wow!

  • Why don’t they just go ahead and throw Bush out now? People can’t wait to see him go.

Glad you got back safe and sound! Hope you get some rest and catch us up to speed!

  • Wow thats a lot of driving !! Hope you had fun and got some rest now that your home

  • that is alot of driving ,girl  yes, you might sleep for days

  • @unbridled_science -

Obama isn’t the President elect YET.

Can’t we wait until the Electoral College votes before he starts preening in front of the “official seal”?

  • Dear Rosemary,

There was some criticism during the campaign when Obama put up a podium sign for his campaign that looked like the Presidential seal. I can’t blame him for being a bit pompous, but he’s going to learn a lot in the next few weeks. Running the country isn’t as easy as any pres elect thinks. Even with a Democratic congress.

1400 miles in 5 days. Good time. I drove cross country in a week once, and wouldn’t do it again. Someday I’d like to take a liesurely drive down old Route 66 however.

  • @MarkLupton - I’ll be sorry to see him go.

  • Whew what a road trip.   Go to bed, go directly to bed.  Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.

  • I would be worn plumb out after driving that far!  Good for you that you made it home safely.  Hope it was fun for you all!

    Hope you sleeping gets better!

  • I’m back too….slept till 11:30 this morning!
Everywhere I look I see Osamas…I mean Obamas ugly face. You can see how humble he is by all the books he has written about himself! LOL!!!

  • @feedwaterclean -

Me too. I get sick and tired of people blaming him for everything and anything. He’s really not that bad.

  • @MarkLupton - I believe history will vindicate him.  For nine years he kept the terrorists at bay, fighting there instead of here; he also saved the lives of countless babies by refusing to allow embryonic experimentation and he also was instrumental in stopping partial-birth abortion.  I also believe the stabilization of Iraq will eventually show him to be visionary.  Glad to see there’s another GWB fan in the country besides me.

  • I don’t get the Obama joke- sigh- must be because I live in Canada—I am sure he is to busy to make his own signs–LOL

and I notice CNN AND FOX call him that- but remember I live in CANADA  and get all my news from USA cable==

I guess that I thought all the election news was at last over—-googled Mr. Bush and wow- he did the same thing and but only once  as he

was already president the the last election= so he just took a holiday—

but remember I only live in Canada so I have to depend in the internet and cable TV to tell me the story-

  • @mommers - I’m saying this gently because I’ve known you for years… If the others have conceded, then 1 electoral college vote or 300+, he’s still the president elect. I’m not an Obama supporter, but neither will I bash him for being enthusiastic about the job. God knows I wouldn’t want it. If he comes across as acting like the emperor of the world, all I can say is I don’t see that. If he were acting like Emperor of the world, I would expect him to be invading multiple foreign countries because that’s what people who would be king do… For whatever rationale he had, that’s what our current “King” has done and that’s what I’ve had enough of…

  • Gosh, when I read of your post, I thought – This is something I always thought about “Bush”, of course I wont be sad to see him go, and I wish he would leave now, before he passes anymore bills -
