  • Is today Friday??
pfffft, it feels like a Saturday.
I think that is a good thing
    I miss you xanga peeps.
I will try to update this week

  • It has been absolutely ages since I tippie typed here. Goodness.
    How are you xanga peeps?
What have you been doing? Anything fun?

I have truly missed xangaland but honestly, I have been nutty busy….

My noo car is driving wonderfully, I have finally figured out the satellite radio and there are some supercool stations on satellite radio… well, I can only listen in my car, which is quite nice really. The drive to the rink is 30 minutes minimum and I used to listen to one local talk station on AM but they dumped my favorite guy and put on those boring loons, Mika Brzezinski and Milque Toast Scarboro, so I have been listening to snazzy jazz and other cool fun stations.

Blizzie is coming home on Thursday. Hubby is retrieving her from the kollig and I am happy about that. Fun trip to Williamsburg and all that but I would rather skate, and he can drive my noo car and stuff it full of Blizzie’s kollig krap.

My skating is getting lousy and sloppy (I think) and I am considering….. Alexie
I am learning how to make quilt squares. I am going to make a squillion of them, then I do not know what I will do.

Princess had some problems last week. I, at one point, thought she has a reaction to a nutritional supplement the vetlady gave me, but now I think she just scraped her throat on a hard crunchie. She does not chew anymore because her teeth are really weak. She is 18 now and every day is a blessing. so, last week, I nursed her back and she is doing quite well now. She is happy again and prancing around the house showing Pierro she is not dead yet and continues to be the boss around here.

Pierro keeps me busy and happy.
So, last week when I was soooo incredibly exhausted from doing a billion things around here and also tend to Princess constantly, one particular evening I was preparing to give Prin some subq’s and give her a special dish of foods (purina NF) and looking forward to collapsing in bed and snuggling with Pierro… when hubby discovered a lot of poop on the carpets in Pierro’s room. Pierro had a problem with poop stuck to his tail after he used his litter box and he frantically whipped his tail around and got poop everywhere all over his night time prison room (Blizzie’s old room). Wow, poop everywhere… so I had already showered, was all squeaky clean in my comfy pajamas, and now I had to scrub carpets and then, THEN capture the poopy boy and wash his tail and butt.
Then I gave Prin her flooids and her snack and crawled into bed without PierroMrMcStinkiesons. Too tired for kitten snuggling sorry.

What did you do for the Mother’s Day celebratory day of recognition? You know EVERY day is Mother’s day but ….
Hubby and I and Christabeeniebelle went to my sisters’ home in Silver Spring.
It was a really nice day, breezy and not too horribly hot. We have had a lot of rain so this was a great day.
Today was also nice. Oh, so yeah, we went to my sister’s and Andrei was there.. doing stuff, being 11 years old. we went for a long walk in the park closeby and ate this unbeliveably rich cake my sister made. It was good, I had two pieces and felt like I wanted to explode from fullness.
I must end here. The lazagna is done and it is time to scarf food.
Maybe we will go for a walk this evening

  • Gosh I miss xanga. I really do.
sitting at the computer makes me very stiff in the neck and shoulders so I have to limit my computer time.

    I MISS ALL OF YOU!

It is hot here. It was 92 this afternoon.
I got a new car, an Acura rdx. I love it. We did not buy the Mazda because the manager was an idiot, nuff said, this had nothing to do with the price and everything to do with the contract and actually I am relieved. I have a car I really love.
It is actually shorter and narrower than my Mazda 6! I love it. I have three months of satellite radio and … that is interesting. not in love with it, but I did find some very fun stations. It also has bluetooth but I have not figured that out yet….

I have been skating 3x per week. It is good.
Gosh it is hot, did I say that already? dang. HOT.

Princess is 18 and she is doing wonderful.
I am taking her to the vet soon for a check up.

Pierro finally did it, he jumped off of the top railing into the family room,

I was right there… freaked me out.
He landed on the cushy arm of the chair below missing the glass table by inches….

he could have been krippled for life!!!
    tiny kitty krutches and everythings
he is sooo cute and he adores Prinnie

I went to visit my parents last week and took them for a drive in my new car.

So, not much is going on here… same old stuff.
Hubby and I went out to brunch with some old friends and they yakked our ears off.
It was very interesting. We also discussed some of the drama going on in our neighborhood… and real estate.

I went to a anti-tax day tea party on the 15th. It was pouring rain here and we went to one in Reston.
It was a big crowd and loads of fun. I have a cool sign I made and I think hubby and I are going to the on in DC on the 4th of July!
Wanna come? You can stay at my place. Bring your own sign!

Tomorrow I am going to the rink. It is going to be another very hot day.
I will try to update later this week… I need more coffee right now

Please, tell me how you are doing. I hope all of you are doing well.
I really miss all of you and I will try to visit… sometime.

  • Happy Easter to all of you.
    Today is a joyous day.
We spent yesterday with my parents and my sister and Andrei. It was great fun I have photos I will put up later I promise… they are just still on the camera.

Well, this is a quick entry just to tell you that my wonderful car that saved my life has been totaled.
Last Thursday they gave us the news after the car shop had inspected the entire car for the repair final estimate. so, we are getting a check in the mail.

We have been car shopping. I am probably going to get a Mazda CX7.
We have an offer on a car at the local dealer, they are transferring a car from another dealer in Alexandria Va.
    We already made an offer.
So, we’ll see. This car is the completely loaded sport touring oh gosh. There were no cars the fit exactly what we were looking for… amazing how this whole economy thing has had its effect on everything. Less cars to choose from. I drove the Mazda3, it is really cute but now am now crash-phobic. The Mazda6 was pretty but same thing… I am freaked. That was such a bad crash and I am just lucky to be walking.
this whole thing has been quite a headache really. I miss my old car and now I have to learn to drive a whole new car with some crazy non-key thing and all sorts of other stuff. The ownership booklet must be 1000 pages long.
    Okay I have to run.
The dealer just called and said the car has arrived …. so now we have to read a lot of papers.
Be well, I hope you are having a delightful happy day, whether is is sunny or rainy. Just load up on chocolate.
    You are loved.
    Pictures soon promise.

    Well pleaseth me
    the sweet time of Easter
    That maketh the leaf
    and the flower come out.

April 5, 2009

  • Well, I am very sorry I have not been around xanga land much. I have been on Facebook land and other than that… I cannot account for much else. skating goofing off hanging around with my parents. My dad is doing quite well. His leg is healing quickly. he can walk and everything!

    What’s new?
I am pretty disgusted that I hardly have time to read the latest on all of your lives the past few months.
I have been tremendously busy. I try to keep very busy. It keeps me out of trouble. I have been doing some sewing, and baking, and lots of walking. I will not skate this week b/c of the Easter holiday, so my plan is to slave in the yard every day.

I wrecked my car last Tuesday. some guy pulled waaaay out in front of me at an intersection and I had no choice than to hit him.
I was going about 50. I have never crashed a car before so it was surreal for sure.
I was not injured because my car is very safe. I could have hit the cadillac right in the passenger side, but I did some quick thinking and decided to turn a bit to the right and get the front of his car and his wheel. Anyway, he got a big ticket. I got lots of attention from the po-leese.
Good times. They asked me if I wanted an ambulance to come and check me over but I was okay. I called hubby and he came and got me and we went out and got our hair cut. I was still in shock, so hey, why not get a haircut?
next morning I was a little bit stiff, but really nothing bad. I had a burn on my left forearm from the airbag when I was turning. It is all better.

    Jeeeeez I am lucky.
The car is in the shop, and so far the guys insurance has to pay $7000+ for the repair.
I will probably trade it in after the repair and get a new car. Not sure when, but we got this nasty loaner car, Nissan Altima (“household appliance white”) it is really huge and ugly. The interior is black, yuck. so, hubby is driving it. I just moved all of my stuff back in my “old” car that I was driving long time ago (the Saab)

I have loads of marvy photos I should put up here but I will just give you these for now.
    I miss all of you.
Please tell me how you are doing.
    mountains of yard work awaits.
    Love always, Rosemary

    God sees sweet flowers growing

March 25, 2009

  • Happy New year everyone.
I have been quite busy and when I am not busy I am either on facebook goofing around with my friends there or playing bad piano
Tomorrow is a year since we have had our little Pierro. Gosh , I love that little kitty.
    Princess is doing quite well.

I have been doing so much but really nothing that has been of any major significance.
Blizzie came home and went back to school. She is slaving at college. We sold her little car so we can afford to pay for her trip to France this summer. She is taking a class in Paris for a month.

The girls and hubby are doing okay.

I have been skating twice a week but really being a lazy slob about it. I’ll blame it on the crappy ice. we are forced to skate on the hockey rink and that ice is colder and more brittle. I can’t stand it…. but I have to admit, it is better than Fairfax was after they got their ice completely renouvated. Anyway, in April they start a whole new schedule and it is … different. I am going to have to get up earlier, get all of my slave duties done earlier and get out of here by 9:30 and drive in rush hour traffic (Washington Beltway from Dulles to 270) and I am not sure how that is going to work out…  That starts next week. So, I will wait and see.

Okay, the latest thing started about two weeks ago. My brother and his 20 year old daughter came down for a visit from NH… jsut for a few days really. They are tremendously busy. It was wonderful to see them. I love my brother and I miss him. They stayed with my parents. My sister in law and my bother’s younger daughter could not come… they are super busy and doing stuff they cannot take off. So, over Blizzie’s spring break home we drove out to my parents and spent the day blabbing eating cookies and just having a good time. however, when I first arrived I noticed some pills on the kitchen counter and it was Levoquin. I asked what it was for and my dad told me he went for his routine check up blood and urinalysis included and then a few days later the doc office called and told him to go to the drug store and pick up his meds for a urinary tract infection!! My dad said he did not feel bad nor did he know he had a UTI. All I could think is why did they give him this drug? Then mom showed me the drug information guide that the store gave them and she underlined several nasty side effects… such as tendon tears. This just seemed so ridiculous I told my dad to stop taking the drug, as he had taken it only two days. He had a copy of his blood and urine test results and I did not see anything that was so severe for the doc to put him on this med. I was pissed, then my brother got pissed.

Well, we let that go and had an enjoyable day and then Blizzie and I went home.
The next day my parents and my brother and daughter went for a long walk in their neighborhood.

Then my dad complained about “muscle pain” in his left leg a few days later and asked me about it. I told him to rest and put ice on it.  They went to the neighborhood nurse place (they live in a nice old people community) and that nurse told dad he was dehydrated which I did not believe. and she told him to keep taking the pills!!! I suggested that he drink gallons of water and gatorade and flush that medication out of his body.

So, I was pretty mad. I was pretty sure he had a grade one tendon tear (becuase he was not screaming from pain) and it was certainly due to the Levoquin. Finally they went to the ER (my nurse sister told them to go to the goofy drug store clinic and that “nurse” told them to go to the ER) I was very happy but worried. They spent 8 hours at that place!!! Mom said they were very nice to them and they had a comfy room with a tv and everything. They did blood work, checked for a clot and did xrays and a sonogram. They figured dad had a tear so they put him in a soft splint thing. I went out there yesterday to check on them.

It was a fun day My dad looked okay and he can move around alright. I suggested the day before that dad should get a walker haha Well, mom and I went to some woman’s house, in their community they have this “caring network” and it is a collection of used stuff, so I drove out there with mom (in my    and   sticker car)  and I picked out the nicest walker for dad and found also this cool tray thing that sits on top for …. enhanced use

relaxing and healing, mom is washing the walker

job possibilities: dessert cart? lemonade stand. I found this cool tray thing and thought it would be great fun huh?
the walker could be transformed into a rolling computer desk after dad recovers

My dad has an appointment with an ortho doc tomorrow afternoon.
So v-chat is re-scheduled for Friday

    and of course, fuzzy things

    happy curly lady

    Pierro

How many of you voted for BHO and are now completely disappointed that this is certainly not what you voted for?
Several people at the rink that did indeed vote for him are now very worried and mad.
I have several reasons I am not pleased with this administration.

Tim Geithner – needs to go, tax cheat, incompetent
Pelosi – get rid of her
    Frank – what a joke
Dodd – liar, his wife is deeply involved with AIG
    Toooooo much government
Do your homework about universal healthcare.
I want to sell my home… I do not like living 35 miles form DC anymore.

The list is too long. I will end here.
I have the “old file” of the Obama plan while he was running and now he has changed drastically if you want the file email me
make the comparison yourself, you will be shocked.

What a disaster. This is what happens when you get a Saul Alinsky worshipping community agaitator for a president.
ACORN is eligible and will most certainly receive stimulus $$, it is in the bill if you read it you will see it.
ACORN sent busloads of agitators to homes of AIG executives and protested on their property, and in front of AIG, just wow
I love how the press mentioned how proud they were that he did not use his teleprompter last night LOLOL

  • Today I.
Oh man how are you doing with this time change thing? are you good with it?
saturday I went to bed too late and Sunday was brutal. I was tired and unpeppy all day
Today I woke up at 7:30 but really I could have slept for another hour.
I drank three cups of coffee with breakfast then I went to the rink
The ice was sooooo incredibly bad. Mondays we skate on the NHL rink and the ice is colder harder and chippy [24 to 26 degrees, hockey skates have a narrower blade]. They groomed it horribly and I just cannot figure out why really. everyone hated it. I was not only soggy from the effects of time change, AND then we get crappy ice!
Well, at 12:30 Kaye, Marian, Pauline and I sneaked over to the olympic rink (nicer softer ice, 26-28 degrees for figure skating) I thought this was very bad, we snuck through the corridor of locker rooms. I was riddled with guilt but Alice said “I have been skating here since 1972 and they can’t push me around, I have given them enough of my money!” Skating on the Olympic rink is sooooo nice, so we left about an hour later.

Blizzie is home studying for midterms

Hubby sold Blizzie’s little car on Saturday while we were at my sister’s house at Andrei’s 11th birthday party

We knew some people were coming out to see the car, so it was not a surprise.

now if we could only sell the house haha
No, we will not sell the house… maybe in 4 years. I think I am going to get some estimates to recarpet the upstairs. I would love to put in hardwood but I dunno… that is why I have done nothing. We have to fix this house up to sell it anyway, so why not do it now and enjoy it. I have a long list of stuff we have to do to this place. blah.

I have a zillion things to do now. Really, a million.

  • I have been busy I did not skate on Monday because we got a pile of snow.
So, Monday I did a lot of shoveling and stayed outside and blabbed with the neighbors.
Tuesday I did food shopping at Wegmens and cleaning.
Larry the plumber came over and installed my noo kitchen faucet

this was taken with my Laptop, so it is reversed
I am happy with it, it is way different than my other frumpy faucet and I do like this one

I ate so many jelly beans today I have a bump on my tongue
Oh yeah, So Wednesday I skated and that was mighty fun.
Today I did a zillion chores. Video-chat this afternoon. the only photo I got was after dad quit the program.
Yes, it is a crummy photo. Oh well, it was a fun chat. My parents are doing just great.
They are getting a Wegmans there in Annapolis Md this summer… perhaps sooner.
My dad calls the store ‘Wedg-mans’ hahahaha

Saturday we are going to my sisters house. Andrei turned 11 yesterday.
I am going to bake a cake Saturday morning

Tomorrow I am leaving at 10 for Williamsburg. I am picking Blizkin up for springbreak.
    Long drive. Send good vibes.
I hope all of you are well. Here things are groovy.

February 28, 2009

  • Well, I should be doing other things now, but, what the heck.
I cleaned three bathrooms. I will do some sewing later.

Okay, here is the story. I went out to visit my parents on Thursday. Hubby had an eye doc appointment in the morning and “work meetings” in the afternoon. He works at home now, he is retired US Gubmint, so he did not come with me.
Anyway, so I spent the day with my parents. I always kind of worry that it is going to be boring but it never is.
When I arrive, the tv is on that show that used to have Bob Barker but now they have that other guy. The tv is on very loud.

So, we sat around and ate some cookies and dad made coffee and then we had lunch, oh that was while the local news was on full blast and dad and I were looking at the tv in his room wondering why it did not get the local channels. I could not figure it out. This is a photo of one of the bar stools I reupolstered. I did four chairs like this. The seat was easy of course the top I had to make a custom fitted piece that fit on like a sleeve and I stapled the bottom.

That was tricky. well, taking apart the chairs and reupolstering was hard too. This is the first time I believe, that I have ever done anything like this, but I can do it. I used to make custom made clothing for Blizzie because she was sooooo thin and tiny regular patterns did not fit.

After lunch we lazed around and talked about all sorts of things. I like hearing my dad’s stories about the war. We got on the subject because we are always surprised at the  migration of muslims around the world. France, UK and Holland have a big problem. You think this is not a big deal, but we do not have it here… yet. One day you will see.
They take over all of the businesses and make demands changes that suit them only, change laws, rules and make what was once easy and comfortable life for normal people now they have to follow rules that do not even agree with their religion or lifestyle just to suit the muslim immigrants. Just wait. It is coming to the US. The migration is slow and gradual
Anyway, we talk of this quite a bit. WE love looking at photos of old Holland, when we were there. Now it is changed.
This situation is very similar is so many ways to the migration of Nazi’s. They move in, infiltrate and then over a period of 25 years they change things. Then… one day, there is a rising up.

I have read almost every book written about WW2, everything I can get my hands on, history and personal accounts.

so, anyway, after lunch I decided that we should go for a walk and perk up…. OH I forgot, right after lunch my mom made me wash her kitchen floor, I ended up washing more than that though because I just did. everything looked dirty. I cleaned the entire kitchen all of the exterior cabinets and counter tops. It was fun. so then we went for a walk. It was a good one, maybe a mile.

Mom pulled a muscle in her leg/hip/butt, it could be just an irritation of her sciatic nerve… I think that is what it is. Anyway, she had trouble walking so we took it slow. It was fine.

Then we got home and had tea and more cookies.
then I had to drive home, which took me an hour on the DC Beltway. It was not bad traffic for 5:00… must be all of that unemployment.

My dad and I love to blab about weird stuff — I mean it. He told me about his uncle that came to the US in 1920 and married some lady he met (an american) and Uncle Barney was a cool guy, he had a construction business and he was always  busy. That wife of his was unhappy. She used to shop and go out and have a good time. She got sick and tired of her crummy husband and paid someone to kill him. the killer guy went up to the Uncle Barney and said “give me $2000 or I will kill you” and my uncle said “come back at 4:00 and I will give you $4000 if you don’t kill me” So, at 4:00 he had the police waiting in the house to arrest the guy and then the killer guy said Barney’s wife asked him to do this. I do not know if he went to jail but Barney’s wife got 6 months in jail! Wow. I never heard this story before.
    cool story huh?

Okay. Yesterday I went to Target to get my blood pressure pills (I take a really low dose) and the pharmacist cheated me out of 10 pills. I did not realize this until I got home. I called the pharmacy and spoke with her. She acted like I was lying.
What a pain in the neck huh? I politely insisted that she give me my 10 pills.

I have been really lazy lately. I start projects and do not complete them. so annoying.

My dad took this photo of my mom. She goes to an exercise class every morning at 10 am right in the neighborhood. It is for old folks. I have never been, but last summer when Blizzie stayed with her g-rents, she went every morning with mom. She said the teacher (around age 45) is very very good and the exercises are fun and you do get a good workout. Blizzie did tell me the teacher looks like she lives in the “80′s” as she wears the most dorky clothing and these big goofy looking glasses.
    puzzling indeed.
so anyway, EVERY year my mom dresses up for Mardi Gras. When we lived in europe it was a big deal everywhere, the parades and everyone dresses up for Mardi Gras in europe, it is like halloween, except yeah, no trick or treating. So she just loves dressing up for Mardi Gras.
    There she is. my mom.

I must end here. I will update very soon
I hope you are having a nifty week-end so far.
We are supposed to get some trashy snow/rain/sleet weather starting tonight.
Oooooh I should send hubby out for milk… we are out of milk and here in the DC area everyone buys all the food when we get just one snowflake the entire Washington metro area goes into a weather related frenzy.
Pierro and his “anaconda” …. packing paper for some car parts hubby ordered a few days ago. The paper is just one loooong strip about 20 feet long haha

  • Happy day
you can print this out and put it on your car.

Lots of fun to be had.

Develop a taste for turnips, gang. You can fry them (in lard, no butter – too expensive), boil them and mash ‘em up, use them to thicken your stone stew or just roast ‘em over the barrel fires that will be on every corner next winter. Can be grown most anywhere, like carrots. Delish!
I hope you have a fabbie week-end. I am planning on it.

And all the “bailouts” on earth can’t stop a train if it’s running really fast.
