xanga is warning me that I will be forced to use the “newer version” on 1-20. That just stinks!
I don’t wanna change my setting!!! *stamps feets*
Why are they dumping this version. I do not like the photo album thing.
I like being able to put photos on my blog and click on them to biggify.
How can you do that with the newer version?Xanga is slowly but surely turning me away from blogging. This might be the last straw, but I will fiddle with some things,
perhaps write my blog in ‘Pages’ first then paste it here. So, what is new?
Yes, it is cold here too (20 degrees). Hubby and I have been going for a long walk almost everyday
(I have very chapped lips to show for it. note to self: put chappiestick on the shopping list for tomorrow)Oh goodness are you prepared and excited for the anointing of the messiah?
I am already feeling all hopey and changitude
A blizzard on Tuesday would be cool tooSpeaking of blizzards, Blizzie is back at college. She is quite happy. She will have a very heavy schedule this semester
(5 classes, 2 are dreaded, tedious economics classes).
This past semester she received straight A’s for her 5th consecutive semester (no “dresses for C’s” earned).
Yes, she is brilliant and every time she comes home I feel
more and more stupid. We did have a fantastic month with her home though. She and I have such a good time together, we are so much alike.
We are both quite prissy, and… everything is hilarious. That is about it. Every way else I guess we are different.
She does not skate, she plays much much much better piano than I.
I am hyper, she is calm.I have been really busy doing all sorts of stuff. One of which, presently I am working on a nutty project for my parents.
They want to recover their bar stools.
I think they should toss them and buy some new ones (they have plenty of $$)
They love their old crusty bar stools so I am *sigh* looking for fabric to recover them.
Last week, I went to the JoAnn fabric store and got some swatches of fabric that I thought would look okay and be fairly simple to sew with.
I brought the swatches over to my parents house and … no, the fabrics did not look good with the rest of the room.
So, this morning I bundled up and went back out, this time with camera in hand and that old bar stool seat. I think I have found something better.
I sent the photos to mom and dad….
Quite honestly, choosing the fabric is pretty easy for me. The sewing is going to be innnnnteresting.
I am not sure… luckily there are only three stools. They look so shabby. The bottom part will require only the use of a staple gun (which I have)
the top part will need some custom fitting, which might require some thinking, brainwork… alertness…. coffee and chocolate.I have been skating twice a week. The schedule has been irregular and this next week, I am not sure I will venture out onto the Washington beltway.
It could be a zoo out there. i just hope my parents do not have an emergency this week. I do not know how I would get out to their place from here! Here are a few pics.
the ratty barstool seat with some pretty fabric I know my mom will not approve:
Oh I think she would like that but it would not go with the huge rug from India in the family roomI like this… I think the parental peeps will too
mom, Bliz and me on her 86th birthday last week-end.
We got her these snaz flowerslast pics: the kitties
Pierro. He is so wonderful. Oh my.
he is a very sweet kitty. quite afraid of strangers but seems to know family.
As seldom as Christabelle comes over, he is not afraid of her at all.Princess: doing so wonderful. Tuesday will be one year since her sweet brother Caesar died
she is in good health and very content.
Every day is a blessing with her. She will be 18 in April. They even enjoy each other’s warmth, well, Pierro loves to snuggle with her
sometimes he tries to sit right ON her.
hanging out together in Prinnie’s paradise room upstairsBe well, sweet and wonderful friends.
you are loved by meWHO AM I??
I was raised in one country but my father was born in another.
I was not his only child. He fathered several children with a number of women.
I became very close to my mother because my father showed little interest in me.
Then my mother died at an early age from cancer. Later in life, questions arose over my real name.
My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a reliable birth certificate.
I grow up practicing one faith, but converted to Christianity because this was widely accepted in my country.
But I practice d non-traditional beliefs and did not follow mainstream Christianity.
I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.
I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.
It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.
I became active in local politics when I was in my 30s and then burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office when I was in my 40s.
I had a virtually non-existent resume, very little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization.
Yet I was a powerful “charismatic” speaker who managed to draw incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.
At first, my political campaign focused on my country’s foreign policy.. I was critical of my country in the last war.
But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country’s economy.
I had a plan on how we could do better. I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.
Mine was a peoples campaign.
I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support.
I offered the people the hope that together we could change our country and the world.
I spoke on behalf of the downtrodden including persecuted minorities such as Jews,
but my actual views were not widely known until after I became my nations leader.
However, anyone could have easily learned what I really believed if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with.
But they did not.
Then I became the most powerful man in the world And the world learned the truth.
Who am I?

I think getting a kitten has kept her alive - a year already? wow.
it was in the 60′s here in Texas today.
when your parents want something -nothing else will do-they -older people don’t like change.
No, I’m not ready for that at allllll. I am so sick of looking at his arrogant face and we haven’t seen the last of it.
A blizzard would be nice, yes. LOL!
I refuse to watch anything about “him” and will probably not watch the coronation although John tells me I should because it’s “historic” If I can keep my stomach from tying up in knots. Who is worse, he, Pelosi or Reid? Yikes and they are in control. O MY!
One does become attached to some old things. You are a GOOD daughter. Your mom and dad are so very young…I don’t think they’ll ever get old and crickety. You have good genes.
Blizzie obviously inherits all your good genes. My daughter is smarter than I am.
Anyway, love those cats!
HUGS…
I am already so SICK of hearing about Osama. I mean Obama. There are signs here on the highway warning of traffic congestion because of Tuesday. We live 70 miles from D.C. Crazy!
Well, love him or hate him, he is our next President so I’m gonna respect the office of president and try to spread some “coming together as one nation” attitude. (One of my New Year’s resolutions). It occured to me that the country is becoming so separatist in everything we do…even kids disconnect from family with iPods and cell phones and not being at the dinner table in the evening…it’s just sad to me. I believe we should keep a watchful eye on our politicans as always, but I will watch as events unfold and see if the government gets the bail out stuff together and gets money to the peeps.
I like both of the fabrics, but I really like the diamond one.
Oh!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR MAGNIFICIENT MOM!!!!
Don’ t worry , Rosemary with the new editor . I use it ( I think ) and this has not changed the frame of my site ‘ s page . For the photos you have choice . You are not forced to put them on album . ( I don’ t , except occasionally ).
I like the spontaneous way you express your feelings s about your future president !
About the fabric we have a kind like that for our stool in the lounge . The same fabric as the curtains one . I already have posted pictures of this room .
The kitties are your companions and you love them very much .
Elizabeth is doing really well at the college and yes she is kind .
About facebook , I don’ t criticize at all it but I have no time to hang up there . I prefer Xanga because you can express your events or your ideas in an entry that is a text well built with pictures . More you build with Xanga your history in going up towards the ancient entries .
I wish to your mother a happy birthday .
Much love to you
Michel
Dont leave Xanga! I just MET you!!!! ARRRGGGHHH! (the quote is kinda scaring me)
oh dear- I have not heard of the changes yet or maybe I changed and did not know it- LOL- not a very clever reply – is it?
have a good time and change will be ok- stay here-please
hugs Meme
Happy Birthday to mom! Beautiful flowers, I bet she really loved them and best of all it’s not a nic nac so she doesn’t have to dust them!
I can’t believe it been a year, maybe Pierro filled some of the gap for us all. I know I love to hear about his antics.
Wha-aa-aaat?! Another change?!? I don’t think I saw that anywhere…now I will have to check.
Try to stay warm! I admire you for walking when it is that cold; I HATE the cold, I really, really do.
I came here from papaoma’s site. I’d not read about the changes, I’m afraid I like the old Xanga. I liked pidqued’s comment.
I still have the old xanga and like it. I will not be happy if they make me change, but I guess I will survive that change too.
Blizzie is beautiful as well as smart, the stools fit their behinds, so they don’t want to change, The kitties are so precious looking as usual, and happy belated birthday to the Mom of it all.
What kind of cats are those..? They are cats right? lol I had to do a double take when you wrote Christabelle.. that is the kittys name? The company I work for is called Christianbelle Electric.. It’s my nephew and nieces name put together.. crazy.
