  • I feel a bit overwhelmed.
I wroted the werld’s shortest blog… and everysomebody comes out to help me feeeenish it.

    Well, not really overwhelmed.
    but stilllllllllll.
I was in the Bozone blowing up balloons for the Barney Bash, if you really needed to know.

Here are some things you might want to know today

It is very hyooomid here. Just dripping with the thickest of hyoooo.

My mom and dad have called each other Meik and Nap forever. ever since they were together and knowed each other.
    My mom is Meik
    My dad is Nap
    meik is pronounced meek
nap is pronounced nop. sounds like pop

Meik is just a made up name… comes from the word meisje. the Dutch word for girl.
Nap is also a made up name…. comes from the word knaap, which is a dutch sort of slangword for guy.

When we had video chat last week… well, every week. Dad makes mom quit i-chat when we are done for the evening.
She is really improving… she remembers how to do it.
So, dad calls her “meik the geek”.
    hahahahahahhahahaha

    ok.
here is a picture of Meik the geek

    They got a new teakettle:

here is a snapshot of my desk top.
isn’t it a mess? *click to biggify*

You can tell a lot about a person, just by looking at their desk top….

    Guess what?
    4 months until Christmas.

    Okay. What flower is this?
I took this picture earlier this summer and I do not know the correct name for this.
it is some kind of a yellow daisy… but if you click to biggify, you will see it has a double row of petals…
which makes it different than what I find on the web. It has a flattish center instead of a roundie one

Have you ever thought about getting healthy
    and maybe…. buying these:

Blizzie and I received two of these in a bag… a free gift bag from the “grand” opening of the new Target in A-burn.
    So… we tried one.
    Do not buy these.
    They are not edible.

This is all I have to report now.

    Be well.

    Excess on occasion is exhilirating.
    It prevents moderation
from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit.
    ~W. Somerset Maugham

  • Is that flower a variety of a mum?  I’ve seen mums like that before.  You’re parents are so funny.  Love the nicknames.  I hate humidity–don’t miss it at all.  Nope.

  • Hmm… So true, you can tell a lot about a person by what is on top of their desk…

I have no clue on the flowers.

  • What a blast ! What a blow , Rosemary !
You parent are youngminded ! It ‘ s fantastic ! They use currently new technologies such video chat .

The flower looks like a chrysanthemum ( chysanthemum of the harvests )
     Love

  • Sounds like neeps and tatties that you eat in Scotland–the parents nicknames, that is.

ryc.  Little Lee green Hawaiian shorts’ Dad is Johnny.  Johnny is Filipino, but he is from Hawaii.  Little Lee Green Hawaiian shorts’ Mom is my dil’s sister.  I think he is a doll and he has the cutest personality.  He has the new baby sister, Leilani, now shortened to Leila.  Just like the sound of the Eric Clapton song.  Sounds like Layla.  Now what makes this really confusing is that Lee’s grandmother’s maiden name was Green.

If I don’t quit soon, my brain will short out.  Glad you are back and okay.

  • I don’t see your desk top but your dad eatting a cookie-?

I thought the flower would have a black center and I know that is a black eyed susan

Don’t tell your parents but I can’t believe they still use a kettle-I just run water thru the coffee maker to get hotwater.

  • Your flower looks a lot like my Coreopsis.  Google it and see if it is the same.  It is hard to see the leaves on yours.  Otherwise, maybe a zinnia or mum of some sort?

I love it that your folks have nicknames for each other.  Ken insists on calling me Mama.  I keep telling him I am not his Mama—she died.  I’ve gotten used to it, but it still irks me when he introduces me as “This is my Mama”, instead of using my name.

I keep lots of icons on my desktop, too, but I do keep them organized by type.  I hate it when my computer louses up and rearranges all my icons.  Usually after a crash, and it restarts itself.

  • Your parents are forever young…and lots of fun.

You have a lot on your desktop.  Val would probably know what those flowers are.  I think I’ve seen them down here.   As soon as someone finds out, I think I’ll plant some.  They look so pretty and cheerful.

  • OMG and I thought MY desktop was full…LOL. I loved Maugham’s quote. I just saw “The Painted Veil” adapted from his book and it was pretty good. I love Ed Norton! Maugham’s books had sad endings. I wonder why?

  • Haha, Meik the geek!  Go Meik!  I am SO into that quote (I am all about excess… the good kind and the bad kind, unfortunately, heh.)  I don’t know the Apple-speak on your desktop… it looks quite foreign to this IBM clone chic (it’s hubby because of his work.) Are the leaves dainty and fringy on those daisies and are they only about the size of a dime?  If so, I have had yellow ones like it, but currently I only have blue ones (I planted the yellow ones in the yard and the winter killed them, but the blues are on a pot on the porch, south side of house and they return every year.  Yes, they are a daisy, if those are the same as mine… I kept the tag… I will see if I can find it outside.  Don’t even talk about Christmas yet, k?  Our Hobby Lobby has had ornaments since MAY!   I like edamame (green soy beans) and dry roasted ones, but me no likey anything in the bars with soy, bleah… something awful happens when they do that to soy beans!  Hope you have a relaxing Sunday ~ stay in and cool!

  • You have a new Target??? How come I didn’t know this? LOL

Your folks are so cute with their nicknames. And your desktop? Looks a lot like mine! lol Hope you’re having a good day today and avoiding the heat. If it’s hot. I dunno, I haven’t been outside yet.

  • I hate it when it gets hyoooo too, here lately we have had a bit of  hyoo maybe with 1 or 2 Os but definitely not up to 4 Os, we, meaning me and my man, think we may die of the hyooomidty when we move back stateside, I guess we’ll see won’t we?

Your parents are adorable. I finally gave up my kettle and went to an electric kettle, wow that sucker heats water so fast, just amazing really.

My honey would kill me if our desktop looked like that, he is really weird about keeping the screen all nice and neat looking….rofl, I think it’s hilarious. My dads desktop looks like yours and I’ve got to admit it can be hard to find stuff on it unless you were the one that put it there first.

Fun stuff R, glad you made it out of the bozone fine.

  • I thought the blog with a B was funny. I liked all the comments you got.

  • Dear Rosemary,

I “biggified” the photo of your desktop.

As an anal retentive organizer, I must admit that this is the “messiest” desktop I’ve ever seen. I especially like the “clumps” of folders and the one labeled “whatarethese”

I haven’t worked in the retail trade (where for the most part I ran garden and nursery depts) for many years. I know the botanical name for this flower. It’s on the tip of my tongue, but while writing this comment I can’t conjure up the name, and I’m sorry for that. I’m seeing the letter “c”. I know that’s a BIG help. If the “search engine” in my mind comes up with the name later, which it sometimes does, then I’ll drop by and let you know.

  • Dear Rosemary  , I am wondering if I told you something no kind in a previous comment. If it is the case i ask you to forgive me  . This would be involuntary and sometimes the words have unexpected meanings that I don’ t know .. I say that because you don’ t visit me anymore and your visits meant much for me .

    Love
    Michel

  • Thanks Rosemary . I am relieved ! and glad .
I wish courage to Elizabeth for the school, ( and to her ..mother ! )

    Love

    Michel

pas : About the coffee make , yes I have been fascinated by its special look .

  • Must take your computer a long time to boot up with all that stuff on the desktop. (can’t imagine what your hard drive folders look like) What’s in mom’s purse?

  • Yellow daisy — my favorite flower.  Had ‘em on my junior prom dress in 1967.  I still love yellow because of that.  I think Mimi’s got the name right.  She is one very smart lady.
