WHY
Why bother going to a gym
or skating and sweating for two hours,
or briskly walking 4 miles…when you can get a great work out….
Mowing the 1/3 acre grass lawn (shaving it to the nubbers) bagging the clippings, renting a dethatcher… dethatch the lawn (180 pound musheeen), mow the lawn again and bag those “thatchings”, and then grab that handy dandy 300 pound core aerator and punch three inch holes in the lawn!
What fun we are having over here.
Oh wait wait!!
Tomorrow, more fun:
Big pile of dirt.
Some gigantic spreader thingy.

think of us.”

I try to live by that saying. Well, why don’t you just go down to Walmart and gather up carts while you’re doing everything else?
Dang girl, I bet your muskles are going to be sore!
Holy yard clippings Batman! Are you nuts? However on second glance, next Spring your going to have the best looking 1/3 of an acre for 50 miles.
I salute you and if I was there I would totally keep bringing you the icy drink of your choice. (My muscles are aching in sympathy.)
Glad you’re having fun!
I agree. You have exercised enough …enough for both of us.
I mean, who wants to whirl around to music on the ice when you can sweat over a lawn mower?
Have fun in the piles of dirt tomorrow.

Our son in town is superintendent of a golf course. He did the aerating thing last week for an 18-hole course. He had such a narrow window between rains that he worked 20 hours straight, came home and slept 6, and went back and finished the job after about another 12 hours. His crew was available during the day, but he kept going all night alone.
I know our yard needs it, too. We have 1/2 acre. It’s not getting done. Ken is lucky to just keep ahead of the grass growing! Have fun!
Giant pile of dirt? Want!
Yuck, I hate the mess the aerator makes – or whatever leaves those little plugs on the lawn. They look – well, not nice.
you sound like an infomercial…

“but wait! there’s MORE!”
good grief!
we need to do the de-thatch/aeroator dealie…soon…
i think i’ll hire it done.
Wow….that sounds like quite the workout! Gulp!
LOL, I often say that in our culture, if we worked more like the farmers, we wouldn’t have to go to the gym! AND we’d have fresh home-grown veggies. Do you remember a few years back when the talk about the Amish Farmer diet came out? The rules are that you can eat WHATever you want, as long as you work as hard! I have forgotten how many miles he walked, etc. etc. but he was no slacker! I like to mow, but all that preipheral stuff? Not so much, heh. Hang in there, Sheerah, Princess of Power. I see that gold crest emblazened there on your supersuit!
(((HUGS!)))
Oh stop yer whinin!! At least you woke up this morning! Now get back to work and remember to smile…no matter how damned hot it is!
I know, but skating is way more fun than lawn work though!
I loved skating since I was a child!! Wish they had an ice skating rink closer to where I live!! I love ice skating, and I love watching others ice skate, too! I think ice skating is so beautiful and elegant!!! Love ya, girl!! (((Hugs)))
I would tend to say you are right , Rosemary , since I dig the clay in my vegetable garden and I don’ t go to the gym nor skate .

BUT this being said I encourage you to go to the rink , you are so gracious on it.
I add the gym makes people relaxed ?? They say.
Do you agree with the quote above ?
Love
Michel
Dear Madame,
You are cordially invited to finish your tryathalone at my place this weekend. Bring all your own equipment, your own tylenol, your own gear, and your own scissors
We paid for aeration and next year if it’s done we will pay for that too. But don’t hire Tru Green if they are no more efficient than they were here. Arrive with a clean machine after 11 yards! That cost them any more work. I’ll hire the neighbor.
I think I’d rather go skating…
Bonnies 55, not 56, here you go, stirring up trouble!
RYC: You’re dad is mean and deserves a kick in the patoot! My SIL was dreading turning 40, so she sent her a B-Day card, every. day!
