  • Prayers.
    Please.

I just arrived home from stoopit bell choir and hubby told me my daddy called. Mom fell at church and she is in the hospital.

I just got off the phone with dad.
Remember practically two weeks ago when we went to visit them, a Wednesday, um the 26th or something?
Well, mom had a upper chest thing going on. She sounded a bit raspy.
Well, I was wishing then that she would go to the doc and just get checked but she hates the doctor office.
So… then she continued on that rest of the week and this week with that chest thing… “it is getting better” she said.

We had video-chat and she sounded a bit better but that dry chokey kind of cough.
She skipped all of her choir practices (Choral and church) and finally today she insisted on going to church and being in the choir. sheeesh mom. I skip church all the time, you are allowed too!

Apparently she got dizzy at some point during the service and got up to leave (from the choir) went out in the hall way and …. seconds later the coir heard a loud clunk. That would be mom.
She fell back and hit her head and back!!!
She has been in the ER all day. They are keeping her there because she had an irregular heart beat. They did a CAT scan and already did a pile of tests.
She did tell the ER doc that she has been exhausted with that chest cough. I am glad she told them!

When she gets a room, daddy is expecting to drive out there and bring her some stuff. Aaaaaak he can not drive at night.

I do not know what I am doing tomorrow.
    First thing, calling daddy.

my mom better behave in the hospital. She told the docs this was interfering with her fun.
oh gosh I am so worried.

  • Oh, Rosemary, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I know how close you are and this is really scary for you. I am putting you and mom in my prayers tonite and right now. Being a nurse is hard when someone you love is ill. I hear this from my nurse friends. You know too much. It is the same when you are ill, for you can come up with a dozen different dianoses. I hope by morning you will get some good news.

    XOXOXOXO

  • The hospital is a good place for her right now – they can check her out and figure out what’s wrong and get her back on the road to health.  Prayers are being said right now for all of you by me.  Hugs.

  • Sorry to hear that about your Momma.  I’ll say a prayer for her too.  We had an experience, similar to this, Thursday.  His wife and I took our minister to the hospital with chest pain.  He’d also been feeling tired….  He has blockages, but not enough yet for surgery.  Turns out he has pneumonia  (and I bet I spelt that rong.)  I pray she’ll be much better by morning, and that you’ll have some good news by then.

  • My prayers have been sent, and I hope your Mom is doing well.

I am so sorry to hear this!  That would be so scary!  Thank goodness your Mom is getting the care she needs, though.

Maybe you and your husband could go there to be with your Dad?  I don’t know how far away you are.

Hopefully you can persuade him not to drive.

    Sending you (((HUGS))).

  • Prayers for your Mom and your Dad–for all of ya’ll.

Hope someone drives your Dad to the hospital to nite !!

Let us know how your Mom does !

  • Many prayers   and please keep us updated!

  • Oh,, your poor, sweet mom!!  Of course, she is in the best place she can be.  But, you are worried sick—I understand that!  Lots of prayers going out for you all.  Keep us posted whenever you can.  Hugs!

  • Prayers,hugs, etc!

  • My guess is that tomorrow you will be at the hospital with your mom.

I hope this is nothing serious and that she’s going to be back home before you know it.  I bet she’s miserable being in the hospital.  I bet she misses her home big time. I’ll keep your sweet mom in my prayers.  I’ll just say something silly right now and tell you to try not to worry. I know. But I had to say it anyway.

    to you ParsleyRose.

  • I suggest you drive over and see how things are going. It’s the only thing that will keep you from climbing the walls.

  • I’ll be saying a special prayer for your Mom. I know how worried you are. My Mom is 81. They are so precious and we want to keep them healthy for a long time. (((hugs)))

  • Oh dear!  Praying for your Mom.

  • what about her head? sounds like a good hard fall. Hope she’s alright.

  • Goodness!  Poor mom!  Keep us posted on what’s going on.

  • If her sense of humour is still intact, I have no doubt she’ll be just fine. Love you muchly..will be thinking of all of you.

  • you know…humour’s what keeps us from going crazy i think…
    this?
“…a loud clunk.   that would be mom….”
heh.  you’re too funny…but like i said…laughing’s better than crying sometimes.

i hope everything turns out okay in the end.

    and?
i’m afraid if i went to church it’d be struck by lightning…

  • Hey!  I am finally here to read the whole scoop (I currently have the attention span of a FLEA!)  I saw that mom was in hospital, but just now scrolled down to find the beginning of the story.  This is scary!  And strong-willed parents may be more trouble than strong-willed kiddos. Prayers and (((HUGS!)))
