We received a significant pile of rain yesterday FINALLY. It is so dry here and we are on water restrictions now for about three weeks.
Nothing wild and terrible, just rain.I think we will be on water restricitons until next spring… we need something like 12 inches worth… at least of rain
Yesterday I did a lot of slavechores, and I worked a bit on my picture. Not too much though.
I am pretty slow. I cannot erase so that makes me just more timid.
You can see I am working there a little on the flowers.I am learning…
the apple, I need to darken that farthest part of that, but I will wait until I finish the yellow stripy squash thing… and the pumpkinny looking squash. Then i will have a better feel for the shadows.this is the original photograph, the very dark photo that our professional photographer teacher took (yeah, I recall she told us she was a professional photographer before she was a lowly middleschool art teacher. This she told us in her 45 minute persoal life overview… grumble … on the first day)

here are my new pencils + the olde ones. so. this is all of my pencils….

I love my “pumpkin orange” but i really like my new magenta pencil.
I got some cool greens too… like artichoke. moss green, and olive.
Happy week-end.
I have loads to do before we leave for the kollig compound to see Blizzpuff play with her jazz peeps.au revoir
a bientot (do not know how to make the o with the accent circumflex thing on the compyoooterHappiness is where we find it
but rarely where we seek it.

The picture is coming along nicely! Hope you have a nice weekend.
So….you’re doing grid drawing?
It’s looking good. Don’t be timid. It won’t hurt you. All those nice new pencils waiting to be broken in…
Enjoy PianoBlizz’s jazz riffs and don’t forget to move your body to the rhythm!
We got rain on Thurs. night and Friday, then it stayed wet around here until this morning… that’s pretty much a miracle these days. Your pencils look wonderful (to me, the greens are hard in realistic plant colors) and your picture is really coming along. I always start out light, then have to go back and make things darker, so they look more realistic. I think it’s really hard to be dark with colored pencils when you first start your drawing, because you have to build the layers of color. I never know what to do with the bg… I have the opinion it’s wasting pencils, filling in the bg, LOL! Glad you got to see BliZZie. Hope you are having a sunny day today! (((HUGS!)))
Oh, I meant to say if you used one of those gray kneading erasers you can erase enough to color over… I have done that.
You’re making progress. You really do have some talent in those hands.
I need to do slave chores around here, too. Ugh.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the jazzy thing!
That’s fantastic! And LOVE your pencils.
Oooh – that is sooo pretty! Can’t wait to met with you on Tooosday.
Your drawing is getting so pretty. I also think the pencils in the glass are a work of art photo too.
I think it’s wonderful and maybe the teacher knows what she is doing.
Ooohhhh….look at all the pretty colors! I would have to use ALL of them, i think, even if it was just a little bit. : )
Enjoy the concert! We will be at a Daughterly concert tomorrow, too!
Very nice. We took in the marching contest today.
Such fun colors. Wonderful drawing. You’re having fun. I can tell!

Skating, French and drawing lessons? Cripes, woman, what don’t you do? I really need to pick up a hobby.. À bientôt! [I switch my keyboard to the French one and it makes the accents a lot easier to do..don't have to do that Alt + stuff]
WOW, you are quite talented! My niece took an art class when she went to school at an Art & Design school in Savannah, GA and she did the same type of grid drawing. It was a self portrait and she did a really good job!
Thanks for subbing!! I would like to sub to you as well!
Have a great week!
I have the same accent problem trying to type German words on an American keyboard, no umlaut etc. Your picture is really coming along nicely and don’t you just love using a brand new pencil for the first time…lol, me too. Have fun with the Blizmeister.
On your drawing , Rosemary , the flowers are in buds but soon they will bloom like on the photo .
To put un accent circonflexe type on ^ the o = ô !! I dont know if on your keyboard you have the key ^ .

The picture is coming along better than the professional photo.
