Do you have any left overs??
We just returned from Christabelle and Jason’s place. They made turkeee soop. It was very very yummy.
I gave them the rest of our turkee on Thankies giving day.In the fridge, I have one potato, a medium size pot of cranberry sauce, one roll, a bit of gravy and some vegetable casserole that Jason made.
a half of a stick of butter.
That is it.Oh, maybe I do have a bit of turkee salad and I think a tiny piece of turkee in a rubbermade container.
I have half a pot of Edy’s peppermint icecream too.
Oh, and one slice of pound cakeand three cookies.I think that is really it
Blizzie and I went shopping today. We went to the mall and looked at dresses. We are going to a wedding on December 27th. Christina’s best college friend is getting married and we are all going. Christina is going to be a bridesmaid. Man, she has a pretty dress.
So, Blizzie and I went to the mall and tried on a bunch of dresses. I am tiny. I wear a size 6 at least. Blizzie is teeeeensy and shorty-short. She is a pip-squeek.
She has to wear “extra-petite” for sure.I tried on this pretty bloo dress. I am not sure about this dress. It must have been made for me becuase I cannot possibly figure out how anyone else could fit into this thing. Okay, it had a side zipper, so I unzipped it and Oh Blizzie and I did so much complete disrobing at every store to try on dresses…. anyhow, so I stepped into the dress and pulled it up… it would not go up any higher than my thighs. I do not have a big butt or thunder thighs by any stretch of the imagination. This dress was not going up. So I stepped out of it and pulled it over my head, squeeeezed through the tiny waist hole with the side zipper unzipped and pulled it over my non-boobs. Then I zipped it. It fit really nice but the chest part was a bit baggy. This was a size 6. Now if I were to try on a 4… I am not even sure I could get into the dress…. I did not buy a dress today. I have time.
Blizzie has to get a dress because she has to go back to the compound tomorrow [she will not return to her mother until the 20th of december]… or I think she is going back very early Monday because hubby feels like driving her early and her class is not until 10:00. So we looked at dresses and then the sales lady at Lord and Taylor called the other store at the mall in Fairfax and they had a smaller dress, so we are going to check them out tomorrow. We are going to skip church and go to the mall….Nordstrom’s has ugly dresses, and skanky ones. There was nothing, not one item of clothing in that store that was even slightly pretty. It was all bad.
Macy’s had some interesting stuff. How was your Thanksgiving?
Ours was sooo fun. We had the gathering here. I did the turk and all that and my mom was in charge of cookies. Joyce (my sister) Chrystabelle and Jason (the boyfriend) were bringing everything else.
It was a nice day. It started out beautiful and sunny. The temp reached 76 degrees by 1:00!!!!! Then this funny black cloud came in… no rain, just wind a lot of heavy wind, then the temp dropped to 42 degrees and freeeeeezing heavy large tree branch breaking wind by 4:00. Amazing. The electricity went out at 3:00 but we were done eating. I could have made coffee but oh well, then we packed up everything and went to the apartment and had dessert there. It is only two miles away but they had electricity. Then my parents drove home.
I think they would have liked to spend the night, but my mommie is such a terrible sleeper now, she needs her own bed to sleep even if she sleeps badly. Also my mom still has a lot of anxiety with this irregular heartbeat. Poor thing. She is doing fine but tires easily. I think she might be a bit depressed.
I am going to see them on Thursday. I think I am going to see them more often.
They need me.My sister. She is a loon. She compares everything. She is going to mess up Andrei one day.
She is soooo loud and she talks constantly about Andrei and how shy he is and how he is not always like that but then sometimes he is and it bothers her and how so and so does this and that and how Andrei does not do that blahblahblah. The only thing I could say was “Joyce do not worry too much. Just let him be a 9 year old kid”
Sheeeeesh. Andrei is such a sweet boy. I am so sorry he has a loon mom.
Jason really hit it off well with him. Christina kind of asked Joyce to consider bringing Andrei over for the week-end sometimes.
Sometimes I am sort of happy that Joyce works a full time job and has him in various day care situations.
She is a very critical mother. This is all I have to say tonight.
I think I will take a shower now and put on something snuggly and jump in bed.
Tomorrow, more shopping.I am looking forward to Monday for skating, but not seeing Blizzkin go back to the college….
OH!!! wow. She is taking private classical lessons. Gah! Oh wowie.
She is playing Schumann’s Papillons. All 12 parts. Oh gosh. Shocking… no I mean Schocking.
I need to practice more.Be well.
I am not around xanga much.
Please e-mail me or message me when crappy stuff is going on with you!!
I need to know. It makes me very sad when I come on here and find out all sorts of terrible things.
Be well, I mean it.
Thanksgiving comes to us out of the prehistoric dimness,
universal to
all ages and all faiths.
At whatever straws we must grasp,
there is
always a time for gratitude and new beginnings.~J. Robert Moskin

Sorry your sis is a loon. Your mom and my mom need to compare notes. Mine is sick and losing weight because she’s so worried about her heart that her colitis is acting up. I may have to go back down there today just to get her calm. Another four hour trip and we just got back Friday.
Yay for ya’ll having fun shopping. I do not shop. I am a size 10-12 and 5’7″ so it is not at all fun. Plus I despise crowds.
I really like your qwote!
As for the weather on your turkey day : Sting’s “Heavy Cloud, No Rain” works well for a soundtrack to that day.
I’m glad someone elses’ sister is a loon, too. I just call mine the crazy sister-I love her because she is my sister but I also feel sorry for her daughter since how can she go to her mom to talk when she is like that and she isn’t getting better but worse. She is proud that she has 15 health problems and she starts naming them and it’s constipation, headache, sore muscles, aches, pains, indigestion….what a loon! and she’s older then me.
we don’t have much left over either now. I took my mother leftovers since at the retirement village they had their thanksgiving dinner on tuesday and my mother said,”is it anything good?” I thought about getting mad but I said,”well, it’s turkey and dressing and sweet potato ” My mom isn’t very grateful.
Do you think that your mom would be open to an antidepessant?
well, you will be the first to know if I go off the deep end-thanks for the permission to bug you when I do.
I think we all mess our kids up one way or another.
RYC: I think he took a ticking time bomb and plucked out the fuse. It takes a brave person to be honest with kids and tell them we did stuff that they already know we did. It sets a far better example to tell the truth and say something wasn’t a good idea than to lie and cover up. We always tell kids to accept responsibility for what they do, but then we crawfish about the things we did wrong.
I certainly cringe when my kids ask candid questions, and I give serious consideration to “altering the truth”, but the fact of the matter is, honesty gives me a whole lot more room to teach than a lie does.
I said more about this on my blog if you’re interested…
Have a good skate tomorrow!
Which mall did you go to? Dulles or did you go further into Northern VA?
Glad you had a good time minus the power outages and cold weather. It did turn fast, didn’t it?
I see lots of my blogger buddies on here tonight. We all have opinions for sure. That’s why they are my blogger buddies.
Glad your Mom is still doing okay…not great….okay is good sometimes.
Sorry you have a loonatick sis. Mine is, well, I sometimes call her “my sister, the b word.” she isn’t married, but has 4 rescue animals. That does count for something….don’t know what though.
I think women have many difficulties when they have to buy dress , hat and shoes . They need to make some expeditions to the shops !!!
Tha women are the same on all continents !!
Don’ t kill me Rosemary .
BTW , no hat for the wedding ?
It looks you have a great Thanksgiving . Next time foresee candles when the power goes out .
Enjoy the skating today and the presence of Elizabeth . Ah ! Schumann !
Love
Michel
Loons… seem to run in all families don’t they?
Do hope mom adjusts some to that heartbeat. It has to be scary really.
I think there’s a loon sister in every family. Definitely one in mine! And NO it’s NOT me, you meanie!
I’m getting hungry reading about all that food. Thanksgiving is long gone here in Canada, and never as much of a Big Deal as it is in the US.
If size 6 people can’t find a dress, what hope does that leave to those of us who are twice that size?!? So depressing. Oh, I think you should buy a skanky dress. And then post photos. I need a good laugh.
Hope all is well with you dear RM…
I wonder if it gets cold enough where you live for you to skate outside?
