This is what I am doing right now, and I wanted to share it with you.
I am sending about 10 Christmas Cards to the brave soldiers that are recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
I wish I could send a bazzillion but I do not have that much $$$
I also got some cutie-bootie teddybear stickers I am going to put inside each card.

    Here is the address:
    To A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
    6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
    Washington, DC 20307-5001

In fact, instead of sending me a card this year, send a most colorful happy one to these people who fought to protect our country and our freedom.

    Happy Week-end

If you have any other great addresses, let me know and share them on your bloggie too!

Okay: according to Nancy, we cannot send mail to WRAMC.
    She is correct!
Here is what I found *click*
    so, oh well. never mind.
Anyone have any addresses that do take mail.
a quick google will help you see if they are taking mail.
Well, this is too bad, huh?

  • Thank you for this information.  What a good idea!

I’m glad that you are sharing this.  Maybe I should pass it along.  Would you mind?

    Love,

    Fran

  • Excellent idea, thanks!

  • Way to go. Guess you saw what I am doing from my post last night too.

http://www.fallenheroesfund.org/fallenheroes/index.php  is who I support. Don’t know a mailing address but I bet it is on their page.

Of course there are always the Fisher Houses.

  • Thanks for your encouraging and supportive words Rosemary. You’re the best.

  • This is a very good idea.  I think Darlin’ Danielle and I will send a few cards, too.  Thanks sweetheart!

  • Thanks for the address – it’s an excellent idea.

  • Been there, done it, got a card to prove it.  keep going Rosie-Posie, you are inspiring lots of interaction this season.

  • I had received this in an e-mail, and another friend told me it won’t work.  Checked it out at Snopes.com, and they said that Walter Reed will not accept mail like this.  They said that since 9/11 it is too much of a security risk to accept such mail.  With this e-mail going around like wildfire, I bet that they get tons of mail that they have to get rid of!  Sorry about that.

  • I will call Walter Reed and see if they will take the cards. Thank you for this information.
Now I will check this and see what I can do. Good thing I did not send my cards out yet!
Wow, I am surprised to hear this….

  • Go back to my site, The slide show is there.  Then all you do is click on the place where is tells you to do your own.  It is already done for you.  Takes about 1 minutes.  I did delete a few pictures, cause sometimes it copies twice on mine.  Try it.  Technology challenged as I am, I found it easy to do.

  • You have good ideas , Rosemary .
    Love
    Michel
