Happy Day after.
Happy Caesar in the papers and sunshine.

We have been relaxing today and eating a lot of cookies.
I gave the kitties some flooids and they are okay now.I hope everyone had a very nice Christmas.
Mine was very very interesting, happy, funny, and FUN and then I allowed my sister to make me feel very very very sad.
Now, after several cookies… I feel better.
My mom bought these german yummy things at the Old World Market in Baltimore. they consist of a small round waffely looking sugarcracker about the size of a Ritz, and then on top of that is a huge 3/4 cup tall blob of marshmallow cream then the whole thing is covered in chocolate.
I have had a few of those. They make me feel happy. I do not feel like throwing things anymore.
I do not really think Christmas gift should be about how much money you spent on it but that you thoughtfully picked it out.
Give me a pair of socks or a package of pencils and I will be happy if you picked it out just for me.
No regifting crap. I hate that. When I recieve gifts I do not care for, they go into the Purple Heart charity box. They love “knick knacks”
My sister likes to give gifts that she recieved that she does not like. This makes her life very easy.
Yesterday she gave me a Hillary Clinton nutcracker. What the heck am I supposed to do with that?
If you would like it, it will be sitting ontop of tomorrow’s trash. You can drive over and retrieve it. The trash guys do not show up until 4:30 so take your time.I gave my sister a Sony walkman CD player. She expressed interest in one about two and a half months ago and hubby said perhaps “Santa would bring her one…” basically implying that we would buy her one for Christmas. She knew we were giving her this, so why did she feel the need to give us a worthless “gag gift”
reading here what I have just written makes me gag…
It is raining here.
I am typing on my new keyboard I got for Christmas. It hooks up to my lap top so I can put my lap top up higher and I do not get neck cramp.
Did you get anything cool for Christmas?
We are not a big presents family… but hubby got me some surprises. “Beautiful” lotion from Estee Lauder, and a tiny Blackberry called a Pearl.
I do not know how to use it. I have a bit of the lotion on. I am not a huge perfume person, but I like a bit in the winter months when I will not attract the biting insects that love the taste of me. I received a lot of very nice gifts form my family. The big news. Chrystabelle is engaged. She has a ginormous diamond ring.

this is a photo from last night. They are sitting on my couch in our very messy house!
clickify to biggify and you will see the ring!
my mother made this embroidered treasure for them! She and Jason plan to marry in 2009. We were surprised, very surprised but not shocked. She told me last month or so that it would happen before the new year, so … there you go.
My brother and his wife and one of the daughters are coming to my parents this evening from NH to visit. They arrived today. We will not be able to see them as we are going to a wedding tomorrow.
What a silly idea to marry around Christmas. We have to put nice people clothes on tomorrow and go to a wedding. The bride is really tiny. She is tinier than Blizzie, and she is short. She is teeny tiny and short. She wears childrens shooz she is so teeesy. The groom is a super tall skinny guy with flaming red hair. This is going to be preety exciting.
Post wedding, we will go to a wingding at a local military base, as the bride’s daddy is a military guy.I am just rambling here. It feels good.
we are watching NatGeo channel, some story about Jesus. Pretty cool.Okay Okay… the kwestchin… I have not forgotten
here is my answer:
What period of your past life do you think or dream about most?
Think about? I think pretty much in the present. I think about how it was only a short time ago my girls were little.
Time flies people. If you have little ones, cherish and enjoy each day.
I do have some demons. My sister Joyce. I love my sister, but she is a frightening person.
Dream about? sometimes I do not even remember my dreams, but then I will go through a streak of remembering type dreams.
I frequently dream about being an orthopaedic nurse in the ortho-surgery practice I worked for.
Everything is crazy but I am working there. once I had a dream about Lab coats and I had to look in several closets to find the clean ones…. mostly they include my goofy boss. He was soooo anal. He used to (seriously) make me fire people he did not like. I had to d the firing. I hated that. Anyway. I dream about that whole nurseslaving job frequently, still.
I also have dreams where I see Dolley. I tell her I miss her. Then she is gone. Here is another kwestchin…. you will like this one.
It is easy.
2) What is your oldest article of clothing that you still wear?
As stated before, the answering of this kwestchin is optional.Well, I am beat! We have video-chat tomorrow morning with my parents and my brother, Johnny and sister in law.
Then we have to get out of here for the wedddddddding.
Christina is already there at the wedding place about an hour from here.
Her fiancé is going to drive over here and then go with us. He is a nice guy. Christina has a wonderful boyfriend, er fiancé.This is all I feel like typing now. This keyboard feels different than my usual keyboard so I have made a zillion typos.
now I am exhausted from corrrecting and corrrecting and fixxxxingI hope everyone is healthy and happy and that your family issues are tolerable and that you are feeling sooothed now after all of that.
I hope your gifts were not regifts, unless they are useful ones.Hugggs and Happy Day 2 of Christmas!
Look at everything
as though you were seeing it

or last time.

you opened the bucket of worms with the sister thing. I have 4 sisters and one gives me things that she doesn’t want. she worked years at the post office and I’m sure they are all presents that she got (crap)at office parties. What I do is give to the thrift store or Goodwill.
Of course being a nurse, too. I’m always taking care of pts. and usually putting them in the bedrooms and my living room of course is the waitting room. Then I dream about the my first house I bought near the hospital when I was a nursing student -a little shot gun house one block from the hospital. I was in my 20′s but very serious.
Why are the happy couple waitting till 2009? just curious? usually engagement is one year or less.
I got from my best girlfriend something that I mentioned 6months ago -I was telling her about a book with the writting of Mother Theresa. New and in hardback and I won’t buy -wait till I see at the library. She got it for me and I almost cried.
I LOVE the picture of you three “girls”! Beautiful three generations!
Your mom’s cookies sound sooo yummy. I would eat myself sick on those!
Congratulations to Christabelle! They sound like some of the couples around here. They are engaged for up to 5 years. And some of them still cannot get along after they get married. You would think they would know each other well enough by then!! It was 11 months from when Ken and I met to the time we got married. That was long enough! It probably would have been longer if I wanted a humongous wedding—which I didn’t.
Family!! Can’t live with them—can’t live without them. Although sometimes I’d like to try living without some of them! lol I have finally accepted that none of them will change, and as long as I don’t have to be with them all the time, I can handle it—perhaps with a little rise in blood pressure!
And now, you question. The oldest article of clothing. Do shoes count? I wear Easy Spirit Motion shoes almost all the time. Have them in 9 different colors. I still have a tan pair that I bought maybe 20 yrs. ago. They just never wear out!! As far as regular clothes, I know I have a lot of tops that I have had forever. I never seem to like to get rid of clothes, unless they are soooo small I know I will never get into them again. I do have a few things packed away that are a little small, that I HOPE I can get into sometime in the future—-probably when they are so out of style I’d never wear them in public anyway! lol I need to get into the mentality of when a new piece of clothing comes into the house, an old one has to go out to the resale shop. Instead, everything keeps getting crammed into my closet.
I should have added that the oldest things I wear are a good 20 yrs. old.
I’m sorry your sister made you sad. Who would want a Hillary Clinton nut cracker? I would think it would be Monica Lewinsky instead…
Congratulations to Christabelle! The two of you will have such fun planning the wedding. (Makes me wish I had a daughter).
I can’t get in to any of my old clothes because I was bikini-size and now I’m XL
I bigged up the pic and saw the ring and the sofa. My parents had the exact same sofa in the exact same colour!
Congratulations!!! How exciting! A wedding!
I am not a fan of regifting, either. Though I did give my MIL a real crystal candle holder that I got last year. It won’t survive in my house with the cats. It is a reacreational activity for them…knocking pretty, breakable things off the shelves. So I figured she would get more enjoyment out of it than I would. In my house it would be in a box or in a million tiny little pieces. There. I have confessed to my only my only instance of regifting. I also got them a gift card.
But I am sorry you got a crummy gift. I agree with you…it isn’t the price so much as the thought that goes into it.
I have some jackets and coats that are 20-30 years old. I wear David’s grandfather’s black trench coat…it has to be at least 50 years old. it is gorgeous.
That does seem to be an extreme example of poor (re)gifting! Wasn’t she embarrassed? It would maybe be easier if you had a set dollar limit for gifts? We draw names in my husband’s family and it helps to have a dollar limit so no one feels that they spent too much or too little.
Your Mom is so talented! I was trying to see the picture she made but it was hard to see even when I clickified. The ring looks pretty, though. Congrats to your Daughter! How exciting!
I like “Beautiful” scent – I admit I like to wear perfume all of the time. I have a teensy spray of that, that came in a “sampler” perfume collection.
Oh, I’m not sure, really, about the article of clothing. I know I still wear a sweater I bought years before Daughter was born, a nice blue medium weight sweater, that I bought in the basement of a department store where they sold the cheap stuff. It looks in good shape, though. Bet I have something older if I thought about it, but I worked over 12 hours today and my brain is worn out.
Well you had a great Christmas Rosemary excepted for the Hillary nutcrake ! Your sister mocked you !!! It ‘ wzs really her only one gift .?
On the first picture I see you and your mother and at the middle I suppose this is Elizabeth ? Fid your parents had to drive a long way to go to your home ?
Congats to Christina . A Wedding is in sight Rosemary ?
It ‘ s the good meals season and thts is ” aggravated ”
by the weddings .
Love
Michel
Glad you are going to be the Mother of the bride. I will be Mother of the Groom in May.
I regifted some things, but they were nice ones. I gave each of my sons’ significant others a glass item from my Fenton collection of glassware. Nice gifts. (Now I won’t worry about who gets what after I am gone…which I won’t worry about anyway. I don’t regift in the sense I think you were speaking of…..I think.
I made the cookies this year. They are almost all gone. It was a rousing evening of playing games that took many of the cookies to keep up the strength of the players…..and I gave some away for gifts to people who didn’t make Christmas treats.
I love the look of a messy house, especially after Christmas. Congratulation on the up and coming wedding. What fun that will be to help in the planning.
I never return anything. If I don’t like it , I wrap it and give it next Christmas to our annual SS party where gifts are usually useless stuff no one wants and it’s always fun…Sometimes people actually get something nice…There always has to be a “spoiler” in the crowd…lol.
You have a very young mommy.
May the last few days of 2007 be good ones in your household.
Love,
Fran
I have lots of suggestions as to what you can do with the Hilary Nutcracker…and they all involve some form of destruction!
Sorry your sister made you sad but I’m glad you found your way back to happiness. Congrats to your daughter! That’s a great gift in itself.
Aw, look at that cute kitty that came gift-wrapped! Your pics are great… you girls are cute. Chrystabelle looks happy, but Jason looks over the moon, hehe! That Hillary cracker? You should do like in the nutcracker and put a too big nut in her mouth that breaks her jaw when she cracks it. I don’t like ‘re-gifting’ unless I get something I don’t care for our can’t use, but I know someone who will like it.
I forgot to answer your last question. I used to dream about my ‘first love’ and getting back to him (even after I married Mer’s dad… not a good sign, eh?) But then I met my true love and I don’t dream about that anymore. As far as old clothes: I have this uglimundo acrylic sweater that my brother gave me back when Mer was a baby. It has a hole in the cuff that I put my thumb through when I wear it, and it is covered in gross ballie pills… but it is SO warm and I don’t wear a robe, therefore, in the cold of winter I wear it around the house. I have several pieces of clothes that I keep, but never wear… sentimental attachment, bleah!
Paragraph 3: I mailed something to you. I mailed it later than I wanted, but you might get it today if you already haven’t. I did not regift you, heh. I have blog-commented enough… hope you have a marvy Thurs. Please pray for my mom, her chemo starts today. Love you, gal pal!
I meant “The Nutcracker” ballet… that’s not clear… I should never hit enter before I proofread… it’s hard enough to comprehend AFTER I prood, LOL! *rolls eyes*
Yey for Christina and Jason!
2009 seems so far away… and then it doesn’t.
Currently, the oldest things I wear are my underooos. Wait, that’s not even true. My “old” ones don’t fit correctly right now. I guess my shoooes then. This is mostly due to the fact that my body is a very different shape than it was 8 months ago and I have a very new wardrobe. Oh wait! I have a dress that I still wore last week (it hung funny) and I’ve had that thing since I was 14. That is nearly a decade. I still get compliments on it almost every time I wear it. It is the one I “copied” and made a solid black version of a couple years ago. Yes yes.
As for re-gifting… I don’t do it. This is mostly because I don’t have a need to. I don’t receive lots of gifts and the ones I do get are ones that i want. I currently have one thing that I got at the work christmas party last year that is “nice” but i don’t need. It’s a mug and plaque set with a nice saying. I have left it in it’s box. And we have an extra crock pot from our wedding that we don’t use so that we can give it to someone else some day. But We’ve had it sitting around for a year and half. Dear dear. The worst part about not having anything to “re-gift” is that THIS YEAR (er…next calendar year) my work is having a “re-gifting party” for our christmas gift exchange party. I can’t exactly use the gift from work last year. And so I will end up buying something silly that nobody will want so that I can give it away. This is more difficult than a regular exchange for me.
Congrats to the newly engaged! Sorry about your sis. Is she very unhappy or a sociopath?
Oldest piece of clothing I still wear besides my fifteen year old ankle boots? Um. Probably Victoria’s Secret cotton undies. They are not at all sexy and they last at least four years. I clean out my clothes regularly and take them to Temp.Emergency Services. Ichange sizes up and down a lot-in between an 8 (not there now)and a 14 (not there now either, thank goodness.).
Wonderful blog we are not gift people either.
My oldest piece of clothing is a beautiful blouse that I only wear on super special occasions. Silly me! I hate gag gifts!
Best Wishes for the New Year!
Best wishes and congratulations on your oldest baby girls engagement! Now we will be reading about wedding plans here before too long. He looks like a very nice fellow and I’m glad you like him. That is sooo important.
I was married to my now ex husband on December 28, while he was home on break from college. Convenient that way. Saved on flowers. Used the poinsettias that were already in the church for Christmas! muahahaa..
Why would your sister ever even think that you would want a Hillary ANYthing in your house.
I think you mom looks better now that she did in the Christmas pics last year. She looks like she’s dropped a little weight. She looks lovely.
Blizzwell looks as lovely as ever, as do you my ParsleyRose. Your poor hubby never makes it in the pics. You should take one of him sometime and post it. Tell him not to be shy.
I’m glad Caesar had such a fun Christmas lying in the sunbeam and playing with all the wrapping paper. Where was Prinny? Sleeping on her blanket?
Have fun with your new keyboard. I know the typos will come to an end before too long!
ps- It was so nice to think of you when I put my red cardinal ornament on my tree this year.
What a beautiful three generation pic! Love it. Wow…that ring is dazzling! Congratulations! I’m sorry about your silly sister. I think we have to know the bitter so we can appreciate the sweet.
Like that last quote. As for sister you want to trade for one who is financially irresponsible at 70 yrs. old and single?
Dear Rosemary,
So many “kwestchins”. I see your commenters are answering them! I don’t dream about the past but here’s a news article from the future: “2012: Hilary Clinton Nutcracker fetches $1000.00 on eBay. Seller found in trash back in 2007.”
Being single, and alone, I don’t give or receive gifts, but I always look forward to our company Christmas party and the door prizes. I won a 7.2 megapixel camera this year, and I’ve been whining on my blog that I need a better camera for at least two years, so this year, no whining. I’ve already posted about 5 new folders to my Webshots gallery full of photos taken with the new camera.
I love the second photo.
Now I’m seriously thinking about my wardrobe. I really need to buy some new clothes. Everything I wear is the oldest thing in my closet! Gosh, it seems like I just bought most of these clothes just yesterday, not 10-15 YEARS AGO!

I am so happy for your daughter! Woohoo!
I’m sorry about the crummy nutcracker gift. Would be something fun to send to Mythbusters to see the most efficient way to destroy it. Bahahaha.
Have a good fourth day of Christmas!
