New Year’s Eve EVEHere is dad, with his cookies.
He loves ginger cookiesOh boy, I am a terrible xanga person.
When I blog, you do not have to comment.
I am terrible!
I hardly ever have time to be on the computer now, and much less in xanga land.
I am always busy here. Why? I do not know why. What is the oldest item of clothing I own? I have so much olde clothing I cannot count it all, but I have plenty.
I have some jeans that are atleast 10 years olde, my winter boots are 17 years olde, they are ugly, I need new ones, they do not even keep my feets warm.
I have stacks of olde clothing… and most of it still fits. It just looks bad. I am hoping one day some of that stuff will come back in style, hahaha right.Today Blizzie and I went out and looked at agenda/calendar/assignment books for her. We also walked around the mall. There was some olde guy playing the piano at Nordstroms. That is waht Blizzie wants to do. That is her dream job… to play the piano all day every where, mostly nice places and not stupid bars and restaurants. She could do this.
Blizzie goes back to the compound on the 7th. She has j-term at her college and she is taking accounting. She bought the huge book that is required for it. It is used and she received it in the mail. It weighs about 7 pounds. The book looks reallllly awful.
My father was a CPA…Oh the wedding. We went to a very nice wedding on the 27th. It was the wedding of Christabelle’s good friend Karen. It was a very nice wedding.
Christabelle and I could plan a wedding like that.
Fort Belvoir (beautiful view in French uh-huh) is where the reception was held. That was a nice reception on that military base. We could have the reception there but it really is far from our house. Hubby is not military but… he has some privilages just being super DOD guy.
Okay so yes, I have been doing some research. Christabelle and I are taking a one and a half hour class on planning a wedding, at the end of April. Actually I found the class before she was engaged and signed up for it… knowing.I have eaten a lot of sugar and junky stuff this Christmas holiday. A LOT!
My sister felt guilty about the Hilary Clinton Nutcracker and yesterday she went over to my parents house and Jason and Christabelle went over there too.
Joyce gave Christabelle a bag with some Starbucks coffee cups. They are really cute. I need to call Joyce and tell her the cups are really cute and I am not mad at her. She is my sister and she drives me completely NUTS.
I wonder if I drive anyone nuts…..
I am telling you I have no use for a Hillary Clinton nut cracker. I will give it back to her and she can sell it on ebay in 4 years.Okay. I think we will put on some perky myooozik and do some dancing around.
Tomorrow is New Years Eve?
1. What are you going to do tomorrow day? evening?
2. What is the funnnnnest or most interesting New Year’s Eve party that you have ever been to? tell me about it.
Two NYE parties stand out in my memory. One,just a few years ago, the other when hubby and I were single and living in Alexandria, Virginia doing the party scene.
Oh gosh I am sick of almond paste pasteries (mom made, I ate) and cookies and cake and snicker’s bars, and chocolate Lindt reindeeers and eggggnog.
not.
My mom’s 85th birthday is on the 8th. WOW I am going to make her a cake.I hope everyone is happy and healthy.
Happy New Year! Many people look forward
to the new year
for a new start
on old habits.

Hi dad! heee.heee…I Caesar! mewo.
NO-MORE-COOKIES!!!! WHATEVER YOU DO OR DON’T DO…NO-MORE-COOKIES!
Old clothes? I still wear a nightshirt that my daughter wore in the 8th grade. She is 33 now.
Oh man…I’m have eaten so much sugary stuff I’m nearly sick.
When I was in Rainbows (13 years old) we had an overnight party. They played a song “100 pounds of clay” all night on the record player. We set the table silently and backward and waited for the midnight visitor.
That is the only New Years Eve party I’ve ever been to.
For several years the McCasserole Clan got together and we played games and stuff and welcomed the New Year. Now several have their elderly parents living with them and we don’t do that anymore. I will probably hang here. Maybe invite BF over to lose a game of Scrabble to me….Sometimes he actually wins. Nothing is as good as doing something else.
The yawny kitty made me laugh, LOL! I have seen those cookies your dad has, but have never eaten them. I eat some sugary stuff, but I think you and your dad beat me, heh. Do not wear any of those old clothes to any wedding, but especially not Christina’s!!
Alyssa sold her books online (amde $100 so she was happy), but did not sell any beat up accounting books.
The most memorable NY’s? Are you sure you wanna know?
I was a freshman in college and went to NJ to my roomie’s house… we went to Jim Sciaretta’s house to a big party… they had money and a huge house like nothing I had ever seen… His parents sponsored a huge party for him (never seen that again either!) Jim was smitten by my ‘suthun’ charm and followed me around flirting all evening. We kissed at midnight and a lot before, hehe… never saw that boy again, sheesh, but after talking to an old friend recently, I found him online… he went to Georgetown. (FYI, I have had lots more fun times with hubby, but not on NY’s… when we married, I came with a kid, so we’ve been old married folks from the beginning.) Tomorrow, hubby is off work and says he will take me to a shop in Wytheville that I have wanted to go to… they sell batik fabrics (they are batiks.com, actually.) We will probably stay home tomorrow night and do mostly nothing, then kiss at midnight, *if* we are awake, LOL! I blogged in your comments AGAIN! Hope you have a Happy New Years and many blessings of the same!
That wedding class sounds fun. My favorite New Year’s Eve party was a few years ago, when I had my two brothers and their families over….and everyone spent the night. We had FUN and in the morning we had Panera bagels for breakfast before everyone went home. This year we’ve been invited over to a friend’s house but I’m not sure I want to go. I feel like staying home in my sweats with Mr. Incredible et al. That is a very cute pic of your Dad and his cookies. Oh..and your perdy kitties.
I hope they are doing well. I had such a crappy 2007–I’m going to be happy to get rid of the old year.
dad and cats look all cute. i am ready for the new year and that is sweet about sister and hear we talked about her so mean..
You dad is adorable. A Hillary Clinton nutcracker? I’ll buy that from you to give to my husband, who hates her. Put it up on E-Bay. Does your mom have the same birthday as Elvis?
Again…great pictures. Love the yawning cat! A wedding class? That’s interesting.
I’ll wrack my brain for an interesting New Year’s Eve. I usually am sound asleep and never awake enough to usher in the brand new year. I know one thing for sure, I’ll be more than happy to say “adieu” to this one. My favorite New Years Eve celebrations were those spent with friends.
I think I’ll go make some ginger cookies. That’s just what I need…more sugar but…ginger is good for you.
A Hillary Clinton nutcracker??. I wisecrack just occured to me but..I’ll keep it to myself as it wasn’t a very ladylike thought.
Have a great year ahead.
HUGS
I think you should use the nutcracker in place of a hammer….
My best friend works in Ft. Belvoir. I don’t know what he does other than military intelligence.
Glad to see you around. No worries about being busy, we all get busy and sometimes we just don’t have enough time for Xanga.
At reading your post Rosemary I cannot resist to transform your final saying in :
“Many people look forward
to the new year
for a new start
in old clothes. ” !!!!
I like the picture of your father and I wish a happy birthday to your mother .
I wish to you and all of your family a happy new year 2008 .
Love
Michel
Happy New Year to you and your family. I bet the wedding class will be fun!
Terrific pictures of the kitties – especially Princess! I’d like that in poster size! I’ve only ever been to ONE New Year’s Eve party. It was about 15 years ago or more and it was a disaster. I helped give it with a girl who hated me who happened to be in my Sunday School. She didn’t like everyone in our Sunday school, so she just wanted to invite people from our SS that she liked.I said no that we would invite everyone and stuck to my guns. It would have been great if SHE just hadn’t been there. Luckily, she moved away. But I’ve never given or been invited to another. I’m not a party person and people know that. I get sleepy at nine o’clock.
Happy New Year!
New start on old habits, yep that’s me!
