We received a significant pile of rain yesterday FINALLY. It is so dry here and we are on water restrictions now for about three weeks.
Nothing wild and terrible, just rain.

I think we will be on water restricitons until next spring... we need something like 12 inches worth... at least of rain
Yesterday I did a lot of slavechores, and I worked a bit on my picture. Not too much though.
I am pretty slow. I cannot erase so that makes me just more timid.

You can see I am working there a little on the flowers.

    I am learning...
the apple, I need to darken that farthest part of that, but I will wait until I finish the yellow stripy squash thing... and the pumpkinny looking squash. Then i will have a better feel for the shadows.

this is the original photograph, the very dark photo that our professional photographer teacher took (yeah, I recall she told us she was a professional photographer before she was a lowly middleschool art teacher. This she told us in her 45 minute persoal life overview... grumble ... on the first day)

here are my new pencils + the olde ones. so. this is all of my pencils....
I love my "pumpkin orange" but i really like my new magenta pencil.
I got some cool greens too... like artichoke. moss green, and olive.

    Happy week-end.
I have loads to do before we leave for the kollig compound to see Blizzpuff play with her jazz peeps.

  • It is 2:40.
I had a super great skate at the rink. I used to skate the Wednesday Adult 12:45 to 2:30 session way back when.... but remember that crazy Lisa?

I skated the 11-1 session today and it is public. It was very nice. After I got all my stuff packed up I walked over to the other side to see the "lunatic session" I saw Lisa there. aaakkk.  She makes my skin crawl. She is so ditsy and weird. She brings the same two CD's and plays them over and over again, until you suddenly feel homicidal

I wonder if I make people's skin crawl?

My pencils have NOT arrived. Here I am... and my new pencils are not!

How come these fedex people did not come directly to my home? I am 45 mins from Alexandria. Grumble.
my pencils have been on that truck since 6 this morning.
    Where are they????????
It is 81 degrees here (amazing really) and I am sure that my colored pencils should not be exposed to this kind of heat!
They should have shipped them "Fedex Custom Critical" White glove treatment. don't you think?

I guess I will study my Français after I give both kitties their Flooids.

    darn those fedex peeps......

  • Yippeeeeeeeee
just checked the fed ex delivery status and my pencils are coming today.
    YAY.

I am going to the rink to skate (duh) now.
I have been skating at the Log Cabin John syrup rink, because Fairfax has had consistantly crummy ice.

This afternoon I will have a bazzzzzillion colored pencils. I will show you.

  • I need a colored pencil the color of this edge thing.
I just went nuts and bought 19 pencils at dickblick.com. Just a website I found with a decent price on Prismacolor.

Today we went shopping, at two Targets. Lizzie got some cool clothes. I wish I was 20 so I could wear cutie outfits.
Then we came home and I had to give the kitties their floooids.
Then I vegged the rest of the day.

Here are the two pictures from last night.

Blizzie did the apple. Isn't that amazing? she just did that!!!

I did just sort of a test coloring of my project, so this is part of the tomato, part of that squash thing and the little pumpkinie looking gold nugget squash.
I do not have pumpkin orange yet I bought on of those and I bought a magenta... it better be perfect.

Time is going to quickly. Blizzkin goes back to the compound on Sunday.
we went for a walk after class last night, and we are going to go out at 8 pm tonight too. We take flash lights.

No Mark, my french teacher is not crummy, she is really good. She is going out of town for two weeks so next week Thursday I am going to one of her make up classes.
J'aime la classe française!!! It is a hilariously good time. Madam Berry is a great teacher.
I hope she will have another class for the next level.

Last evening the art teacher asked if anyone was interested in taking an advanced art class.... I did not react or respond.
She is such a silly teacher. Every class she tells us things we really do not need to know...

    I have to end here.
Oh! here is my finished sketch.
you will have to click on this one for biggification!

    Have a fun week-end peeps
Blizzie and I are leaving now for our walkies.

  • Everything is going very well here.

Mom has a halter monitor and she gives that back to the cardio guy this afternoon.
She is recovering slowly from the bronchitis. She gets tired very easily.
Thank you boat loads for the prayers. They worked, they really did.

Blizzie is home and we are going shopping now.

She came to drawing class with me last evening... the teacher told the class about how her room mate (boyfriend) brought home his drunk friends and one threw up all over her new couch and her still life drawing... yeah. like I care. Blizzie has to use all the strength she had in her to not burst out laughing.
I have discovered that the teacher cannot draw... and the big surprise is... that Blizzie can. I will show you that later. sheesh.

    hafta go now. Bye
    me

  • back home. mom is doing fine.
Dad is okay... everything is okay.
    I guess.
This ER doc today said mom does not need coumadin her INR is 1. He told mom that she was dehdrated and her sodium level was way too low.
So, they have to get Gatorade. Daddy did not know what that was. Mom felt good enough to go to the grocery store with dad.
I told them to buy 8 bottles of what every flavors look good.

I am here. I am not sure where my brains are...
I am going to french class tonight
I hope nothing happens while I am gone

Thanks again for the prayers. Thanks bundles and bunches.
    Xanga is amazing
    You peeps are amazing.

    *sigh*

  • they put jason under, so he is getting his teeth pulled
somethig told me to go home.
I am here (duh) and there was a call.
    Mom is going back.
    She does not feel good

I called and she and dad do not sound good.
    I am worried.

I was a little surprised they let her go yesterday...

    later

  • quick up date.
    mom is home.
they kept her all day yesterday in something like an ICU step down unit. Did a bunch of tests that all came back normal.
She does have an irregular heartbeat. They put her on a very low dose of coumadin.
They are treating her with antibiotics. She has bronchitis. Her head is okay
She was released to go home last evening. Dad picked her up.
She has to go to her doc on Thursday.
I will call her this afternoon. I am sure she is glad to be home with her cookies and tea.

    Presently.
I am up. just rolled out of bed. I am getting prepared to take Jason to the dentist to get his wisdom teeth removed.

Then I will stay at the apartment until around 1 or 2.
I have my books and pencils packed so I can study my Français and do some coloring. I got  6 new pencils yesterday but I still cannot find pumpkin orange....
    I have french class tonight

    hafta go. more coffee.
    try to look, uhm... awake.
    *yawn*

thank you thank you thank you for the prayers. I know they worked. She is home!

  • I am home.
I called my dad last night at 11:15 and checked to see if he had locked up everything for the night.
he was okay. He never drove out to the hospital again in the evening because mom was still in ER holding area.
I was quite relieved about that, mainly, because mom gets plenty of attention in ER holding, and I just did not want daddy driving in the dark.
I had called my Joyce (my older sister in Silver Spring) earlier after talking quite a bit with my brother Johnny in NH. When I called Joyce, she was mad that daddy had called her at 7 wondering at waht level she was on the list of people to call or something like that.
Joyce and I talked for ages about mostly Andrei (she adopted him from russia when he was one year old, Joyce is single). She needs to stop obsessing with him about school and just let him be.
I mean, if he has no aspirations at this very significant time in his life, to be a rocket scientist at the very important age of 9, well she just needs to be at peace with that.
Good God that boy is over scheduled.

She called me this morning. We made the plan lasst night that she would go to the hospital today with dad. She is only 25 minutes away from them as I am at least an hour.
so, she left for Annapolis this morning around 9-ish
I will stick around here. Actually I am not.
I am probably going to go to Chrystabelle's apartment and pick her up (she does not have a car) and I have to go to the vet and pick up more Lactated Ringers for the kitties.
Je suis wooozy fatigué. I went to bed reallylate last night.

While I am in Leesburg picking up the kitty supplies, I have two artist supplies stores I am going to swing by and look at pencils.

I finished drawing out the still life. It looks good. I am scared stiff to start coloring it so I will just search for "pumpkin orange" and I have a list of the other pencils I have... and look at any others that look cool. If I have lots of pencils... just keep collecting the pretty pencils... just continue playing with the pencils....

I have not heard any more about mom. I have not heard the results of the CAT scan but Joyce said that daddy told her that the scan came back "normal"
I do not know the results of any of the heart tests... so those are things that Joyce will discuss with the hospital staff today. Yes, I am sure that she could have a mild concussion.
She is an actively practicing RN with a master's at NIH so she is much, way way way more knowledgeable than me. I feel better that she goes there, and asks the questions. (I am just a lowly 4 year, retired dinosaur years nurse)

I will certainly let you know all that is the latest news on the mommy. Right now, I believe that your prayers are working.
    Joyce has my celly #

    I need second breakfast.
many thanks and *smooochies* from me
